Wheres a decent bootfitter in this area?

i am looking to buy new boots from scotties despite my horrors with that shop.
they have some dirty cheap boots right now and i have
a choice of
last years agents, prob 90s?
last years kryptons,
and last years FT camos.
i am looking for a real boot fitter in the area (whitby/oshawa), and maybe even torontoish.
i tried Kirby two years ago and the guy fitted my foils horribly,
and i was set up with a size too big, and a boot that simply wasnt right for what i do.
i am sort of pissed now because i didnt really know what was going on before.
does anyone reccomend a place to get boots fitted?
or even i guess a specific person?

Try our shop here at the Oshawa Ski Club. We have some great people on staff that can fit you in a boot as well as anyone can. The OSC PROSHOP is located at 4098 regional rd. 9...right at the bottom of the ski hill, one location only.  We ARE NOT affiliated with the "Kirby" shops in any way.

Anything you spend here goes directly back into the operations of the Oshawa Ski Club...even if you don't normally ski here, it's helping to support the sport.

I'm not sure if it is my or Corbett's fault, but I'm not happy with the Foils I got there this summer. Too tall/wide for my feet. I used the last pair of boots I bought from them for 7 years though.

Where is Scotties? I'm trying to hunt down some Full Tilts and Senecal Sports in Newmarket is sold out.

the last pair of boots i bought from them were sized one size too big. i have since moved down two sizes.

umm its in whitby.
but heres the deal,
if you go for the FTs, dont steal the last 28 camos from me :D
they only have last years models, and they are in the back, so you have to ask.
cus they arent displayed.
they actually have a rediculously amazing 50% off everything instore sale until
everything is gone.
well just the winter stuff till its gone.
but just a warning, its technically 25% off skis cus they jack up prices before.
but still some good deals,

from what i have seen, be very careful about buying boots from senecal. but that's what i've seen when dealing with their customers. make sure you can get a fit guarantee IN WRITING before giving them your money

uuhhh for the record kirby DOES have good bootfitters. u just need to know who to go to.

if u want a good bootfit from kirby...go and see dave treanor or andrew aka GUMP.

they tought me everything i know about fitting...and i can even say for myself i have never had a boot come back on me (even though this is only my second year working in a shop)

scotties will be ok but dont talk to anyone other than the man himself, cause i dont trust the kids in there farther than i can throw them.

lol but Luc, i went and got dave to fit them
and i ended up with a boot that was too soft,
and a shit load of foam to take up extra space.

hahah really? wow i thought matty fit u. hmmm thats odd for him cause he is USUALLY a stickler for proper fitting.

hit up skis and bikes if u can there are some cool cats there and if u go to scotties do what i said. and i also reccomend u read lyndon;s sticky post in gear talk about how a boot should feel/fit(if u already havent)...

that way u will know if someone is tryin to pull a fast one on u.

oh i didnt know you mean like the initial fitting and stuff.
well yeah that was matt.
but then Dave worked on it afterwards and like did all the mods.
so i guess it wasnt so much his fault.
but i still really dont want to buy boots there cus they cost way too much
compared to scotties.

yo yo, i work at skiis and biikes at the mississauga location, names david, and im just elaborating on your post/thread.

you cant realy do much after a boot packs out except cut pieces of foam and then tape/glue it between the liner and shell, its not gunna feel the same, but if your liners pack out way more than u thought they would (movement in lower foot for example) its an option. Also if your achillies is moving we can make a heel rap out of foam (put it between liner and shell) and that will hold your ankle in a bit tighter. get a good boot fitter to do this, they know whats up.

Your best bet if your buying boots is to get them fit farely tight, not to the point of pain but fairely snug, usualy after the liner packs out you should have a good fit, if not get a good bootfitter to punch, grind, alter the in the proper ways. Just remember that its much easier and better for the boot to make it bigger than than to fill it in and make it smaller.

your best bet at skiis and biikes is to get an appointment with chris, marc, sean, or rob, as said by pipe_munky. I'm aight but i dont got the experience as some of the older guys.
