Looks like good chances of a real blizzard finally. This guy is pretty correct when it comes to predicting storms.

Dont get your hopes up. That storm is gonna dump a lot of rain, on all PA/NY resorts, most NY resorsts, all CT resorts, and some VT resorts. Should be a rain storm first, and then it will move more westward,and the back edge will be snow. But regardless, who wants to ski a couple inches of fresh on top of boiler plate. Thats not fun.

Considering I live dead center where he circled, I am very stoked. This may not be very big compared to some of the west storms, but for PA, this could be very fun.

I'm from maine. We had the ice storm of 98. However, this is the blizzard of 93. Completely different.

I live in BC and the storm dumped sooo much snow on the hill. 70 cm one day and 60 cm the next but it was lame cause it closed the mountain from snow fall and avalanches. But i had exams so i couldnt shred that pow.

Oh yeah, i've been thinking about something all week. I'm just wondering if you guys think it's possible/practical, although i'm now thinking it's a stupid idea...
I have a pretty steep driveway and it's a real bitch to get out of when it snows a good amount, even with our Land Rover. Let's say i put a couple big tarps down at night before it's supposed to snow a lot, do you think it would prevent ice from forming, or would moisture still get down in there and make it slippery? Also, would the tarp(s) be way too heavy to drag it off the driveway and dump the snow in the yard, even if i shovel some of the fluffier stuff off the top first?

Personally, I am leaning to the track going from New Orleans to Charlotte to Baltimore to Albany. On the track, the heaviest snows go up the spine of the Appalachians and New England gets flooded by heavy rains and a quick snow melt.

Judging by that dude's radar, NE and VT is screwed. But looks like directly north of NY is gonna get pounded, like Ontario/Quebec. Le Massif will probably be epic next week...

Im in southern Indiana and we got hit pretty hard ..we only had school monday this week..thers like a layer of snow on teh ground..then a layer of ice..then another layer of snow..so its weird..ur like standing on ice ..everywhere.

The operational models continue to adjust the storm track to the east, which I think is interesting given the trend of the winter. If you take the track of the storm now, the axis of the heavy snow would go from Atlanta to Winston, N.C, to D.C. to Trenton, N.J. to Albany, N.Y. It's a great track now to dump heavy snow in D.C. and Baltimore and not so for NYC and Boston, which would mix rain to snow. In any case, it's just the trend of the models overnight, and I still think the track is more favored to go from New Orleans to Charlotte, N.C. to Albany.

Let me just stress we are going through the normal model changes on the track. They will go west and they will go east but, by Sunday, we should have a general consensus on the track of the storm. In my mind, anyone from I-95 west to Nashville, Tenn. up to Detroit is fair game for snow..."

Noon GFS has it so far east that i-95 could see good snows. Not sure of how accurate that it is but in the past three runs it has come further and further east. I would love to see this even go out to sea as opposed to pummeling East Coast with flooding rains, though i doubt it will go that far east. Conclusion = looking much much better for east coast.
