who has skiied them? what can they be compared to? how long of a hike? hows the terrain?

They're sick, I've never done them but he lift looks like it takes you most of the way there... you can see them from the summit lift and they look so ill.

They are nice, not very hard at all. But they are NEVER EVER open. You are still allowed to skin/ hike up the road, I think it's about 3 or 4 miles from where the toll booth is, I've never hiked or skinned it but i've biked it. It gets pretty steep in some parts. But, in all honesty, I personally don't think it's worth it, unless we get a lot of snow, which never happens. So yeah, there you go.

Ray, are you kidding me? I've been skiing the slides since i was 9! All of the nysef coaches bring their j5's in there, aged between 6 and 10. They are only fun if we get a buttload of snow, which never happens, and if it does happen, ski patrol hogs it to themselves all morning and might open them to the public at like noonish.

Ive skied most of them and id say they are definatly the  most challenging runs ive ridden on the east coast.
 
As for the ski patrol "hogging" the slides. It's their job to make sure those lines are safe for the novice skiers/riders who go into them, that shit takes time and conditions vary daily.

there are much better slides in the adirondacks, a lot steeper and longer and more snow, a lot of them have a pretty long approch though but definitly worth it

Ive skied them before, super fun and pretty much only open in the spring. but as far as difficulty goes, Justin perry (or Jp as we know him) his 9 year old sister did slide 3 a few years ago and she is a novice skier, so They are more fun than challenging and some good cliffs too. Slide out (the exit out of the slides, go figure) is suuper fun with lots of rollers, so if u ever see a sign at the bottom of chair 6 saying they are open, hit em up!
