College Acceptance and Skiing

I have narrowed down my list of colleges to:
University of Redlands in Redlands, CA which is about 1 hr from big bear
CU @ Boulder
DU
U of U
Gonzaga in Spokane, WA
Westminster in SLC
University of San Fran
Lewis and Clark in Portland

Skiing is going to be an important part of my life during college. I am from colorado so i don't really need any explanations of the skiing here but has far as Spokane, Redlands, and Lewis and Clark what are the closesest ski resorts to these colleges and how is the skiing. Thanks

well u. of san francisco would def. not be the choice for skiing. About 3-4 hours up to the mountains.

how did you get your replies from all of them so fast?

well you live in CO, but CU is sick if you have a car for skiing. If not its a bitch to get a ride up on a constant basis unless you have a good friend who will drive you up all the time.

Mt. Spokane is near Spokane, along with Schweitzer (not as near though).
Lewis and Clark is relatively near Mt. Hood, 1-1.5 hrs.

i did early action. i just worked my ass off during october and got all my apps in by the end of the month so i could enjoy my ski season. i get out of school everyday at 1 to ski so its real nice not having work to do besides a lil bit of homework here and there

Lewis and Clark is normally between 1-2 hours from the mountain depending on the conditions and how fast you drive. The closest mountain is Mt. Hood. Its pretty good, this year has sucked, but last year we had alot of snow. The powders okay, but its normally pretty wet. There three different places to ski, Timberlines got some of the most summer skiing in the US, the windells camp is there all summer, Ski Bowl has the most night skiing in the U.S., then Mt. Hood Meadows is the biggest. I go to meadows the most.
If you want to go for something bigger you can go to bachelor. thats like 4-5 hours from portland I think. There lots of places you can stay close by for weekends, most arent cheap though. Its huge, Im pretty sure its one of the biggest places to ski in the US.
Im pretty sure there are some other good spots in oregon, but thoses are the ones I hit up the most.

U of Redlands is probably not a highly respected university at all.  Also it will probably be in a really shitty area to live/party because around Bear is just desert and tiny/developing places full of tweakers.  Bear mt. is dope though, they have two resorts and your lift ticket/pass is good at both of them.  They both have chill parks but there isn't really much pow/backcountry oppurtunity.  You would most likely be dissapointed coming from Colorado.  Lets just say I live like 2hr's from Bear and I'm applying out of state.

I'd say mt hoods park is better than schweitzer's, but Mt. hood really doesn't have that amazing all-around skiing compared to colorado. Powder is good at both areas.
