PNS 2nd Annual Photo Annual Big Air

The 2nd Annual Photo Annual Big Air at Perfect North is February 7th. More details will be coming in the next couple days, but as of right now, it's shaping up to be even better than last years, and hopefully you all remember how sick last years was. The jump should be pretty much perfect. Hopefully all of you can make it out and I or Tad or someone else will post more details when they are available. Get stoked!

Couple more details. Registration starts at 5:30, Am division should kick off at 7:00. Jump will most likely be open all day for practice like last year. Sponsors and prize info still to come.

and just in case you were wondering. There will be a snowboarding and a skiing division both with pro and am divisions in both. Not age groups like i know some places do it.

More Details:

Registration Fee may be a bit more than normal, like $15 and $20 however it may also include a t-shirt to take with. Prizes aren't quite determined yet however I'm hoping for them to be Good and Numerous... last year we did a Season Pass and some boards/skis, oakleys, Skullcandies, and the likes.. so expect at least that type of level and maybe we'll see if we can step that up a bit too...  
 
The Jump should be available pretty much the way its going to be for the contest as soon as Monday or Tuesday and once it is built i intend to leave it alone for the most part. I'm thinking that Thursday/Friday we'll chainsaw it to get the nice crisp lines we want. It will be similar in shape and feel as it is now except i hope for it to be at least 10 feet larger, perhaps a bit more Step-Downish for the spectator appeal, and obviously not as icy as it is with -4°F and no Park Bully for me to fix it with.  
 
Also this year we're going to try and give each winner a Poster of the best picture our Pro Photographers get, we're hoping that goes quickly and we can get them to them that night, we'll see. Also there is a chance we will have a contest to vote for the best photo, and you may also be able to buy the photographs after the contest at some point. We're working on those details.

Weather is starting to look better for Saturday so I hope a lot of you guys can make it out, its going to be a real good time.

the jump is pretty much how its gonna be for the big air. and its amazing. it floats ya sooo good and the landing matches up with it perfect. plus there's always the sickest atmosphere especially during a big event.

I hope people can see those.. sorry i dont have any more uploaded showing the length very well...
but i would say its a good 50 to the knuckle.. but lots of pop.. and the landing matches really well.. should be an outstanding event if we can keep the weather we have,

I stepped it off last night at 45, and it might be a tad longer than that since my steps were a bit inconsistent. It's all cut smooth and looks sexy as hell though, and its hitting really big and super smooth.

out of curiosity how big was the jump?! like distance lip hight how high did it put you...

Distance wise was probably around 45 from end of the lip to the knuckle and people were taking it probably 60. Height wise i'd say it was 15-20 off the deck. Super smooth transition and pop though. Hopefully there's some video up sometime soon.

on the perfects podcast when the two go off the jump at the same time doing fronts..who did the superman front? and was that the same kid who did the dub front?

The dub front was thrown by Nick Busken.

The two fronts were by the barnett bros. Idk which did the superman off the top of my head tho.

the barnett brothers did the front flips, it was aaron who supermaned it out. and im pretty sure chop's switch 7's are the smoothest, slowest thing ever.

props to everyone...jumps are definitely something i struggle at and envy everyone who can do anything more than just spin. I constantly try to learn corks and flips, but i think i will just stick to my rails. you guys definitely throw down on jumps.
