I dont ever want it to happen again
Started off with a call, i needed to babaysit my eleven year old next door neightbor, because his parents need to go to hospital where his sister is, who is in a critical condition.
20:00- Arrive, Kid is crying, parents leave in the car, i let the kid watch tv, still crying, make him popcorn and a warm drink and sit with him and try keep him entertained.
20:30- Play board game with kid, try to keep him interested and play some skate 2 with him
21:00- Still playing xbox, kids stop crying, im letting him pwn me, its all good
21:30- Instruct kid to go to bed as parents said 9 30 is the time they want him in bed
21:45- Kid starts to cry again, i go into him and comfort him untill 23:00
23:00-02:00- all is well, hes asleep in bed
02:30- Phone call comes through, parents of kid, their crying, they tell me to wake up the kid, he needs to get ready to go to the hospital, his 13 year old sister died at 02:10 in the morning, may she R.I.P, they instruct me to tell the kid, why? Idk, but i have to do my duty.
02:40- Wake kid up, tell him to get his clothes on, kid starts to cry, i calm him and he gets dressed
02:50- Sit the kid on the couch, basically say " That was your parents on the phone, im afraid your sister is, uh, dead" Then he starts to cry, and i hug him (Im you call me a homo, stfu, his siter just fucking died) and tell him how great his sister is bla bla bla, and how she will be missed, and how shes had a great life and is now in a better place
03:00-03:30- Comforting kid
03:40- Dad comes picks kid up, hes crying, i just stand their shocked, he offers me 1000 dhs (Yeah, thats alot, good few 100$) I dont accept it, he keeps it and drives away
03:40- now- i sit here shocked, heres my question NS, did i do everything right, could i have done it differently to do it better, it really is bugging me, i want to know if i did everything right, i want the kid to be ok. And, is it right for the parents to ask me to tell the kid? Help me NS, im still in shock!
