Yeah for sure,
So you have a good lens set up, the 70-200 is a perfect lens. Its the focal length most pros use.
As for f/ stop and shutter speed, I would start working and experimenting a lot depends on the sun (obviously). If its super bright, you could be in the 1/4000 second range at 5.6 even. So it really just depends. I would recommend starting on auto and seeing what its telling you to do. Take a picture and experiment. If you have digital you mine as well use instant developing as a tool.
Be sure to look around, you don't want shit in the background; that always ruins a shot. Look for lifts, chairs, other people. Also, make a reference point. When I started taking pictures I just shot people in mid air, they could be going off a 5 foot kicker or a 40 foot kicker, it didn't matter, you couldn't see anything. So make sure you get some of the take off in the picture. People need to see what's going on! (you can get artistic with just having people in the air, I have a shot like that in my picture gallery. But don't do every shot like that) Shoot with different angles, get down on the snow, tilt your camera, place your camera on a rail and have someone hit it (watch out, I have taken a snowboard and a pair of skis to the gut doing that, it hurts.)
I hope that helps some what. Protect your gear, keep snow etc.. out.
