Can we clarify the difference between

a flatspin a bio and just a corked spin? there is so much controversy...whats the real answer?!?!?!

flatspin is an off-axis back rotation. bio is a forward cork.

simply put, a cork is when you lean back and a bio is when you lean forward.  assuming you go off the jump straight

although i cant describe it very well either, it is most definitely not that
rodeos are my favorite trick, but the only way i can think about them is as a lincoln one way and spinnin the opposite. but thats not exactly what it is...

nope. rodeo IS backflip and spinning. your lincoln thing is sort of misty ish.

Rodeo you go completely inverted (legs over head) and flatspin you're never 100% inverted. There is a thread on this. I'll find it.

And yeah, cork is leaning back, bio is forward.

from what I have been told

in a flat spin the tips of your skis lead the rotation like this = i think of kicking a ball and then following through which will set your rotation ( i dont actually kick)

and in a rodeo the side of your boot (depends which way you spin) is what leads the rotation

and a rodeo is not exactly a lincoln with a spin

think of jumping onto your bed and landing on your back but just following through with the roatition

UGH.

Cork = back-leaning off-axis spin
Bio = forward-leaning off-axis spin

Rodeo = Popping off heels, shoulder checking forward, and rolling over back

misty = same as rodeo but popping off toes

flatspin = looks like a non-inverted rodeo, essentially. It's a little different axis of rotation than a rodeo though.

hate to add to the debate, but...

if a rodeo is the opposite of a misty (backflip with a spin), then whats the difference between a rodeo and a d spin??

alright rodeo is so tough to understand what it is because everybody thinks of it differently. i dont think a rodeo is completely inverted. the way i like to describe rodeo is throwing your right shoulder forward and then rolling over on your back.

for flatspin you hit 90 (straight) and then roll over instead of just throwing your shoulder forward and rolling over (this is why flats and rodeos are so similar)

misty- punch your left knee with your right hand and go kind of sideways then over, basically a frontflip but instead of setting it by tucking straight in you set it by throwing that right arm down into your left knee.

bio- very similar to misty but you gotta set to your hip instead of your knee so you dont really flip you are just rotating on a forward axis (dumont really likes these)

if you think i did a good explanation check the ASK TURPIN cult his are 30x better than what im telling you

yes this is definitely a flat spin see how he doesn't really go off axis until after 90 and his skis lead him through the rotation

I can promise you that that is a bio.

In both a rodeo and flatspin you go inverted.

Flat spin is probably one of the hardest tricks to do.  When a lot of people attempt them they end up doing a rodeo.

Flat spins are different than rodeos in that you 90, barrel roll, and then 180.  When a lot of people try these they end up spinning more than a 90, do a switch backflip, and then 180 which is a rodeo.
