Obsethed for park

Hi

I'm looking for a long fat (185 - 195 cm, 100 - 110mm underfoot) park ski, well I will be using it all over the mountain but mostly park and powder.

I rode the THUGs last year, a little too stiff for me in the park. They were my old powder ski that I center mounted to use in the park.

The other day I demoed the Obsethed, and they felt great, I could't go on rails though beacuse it was a demo ski. I really like the softness of the Obsethed, they skied really well and was were stable in the air and on landings. The rocker was so much fun for butters and stuff.

So has any of you ridding the Obsethed in the park, or do you have some sugegstions that might be better for me. After trying out the Obsethed I think I want a rockered ski.

you could. but id go with the hellbents instead. ive been on both, and the seth is geared much more towards charging lines and riding variable snow. the flex is much damper, and the sidecut/rocker setup is fairly directional. the hellbent on the other hand, is just about a true twin, with equal rocker dimensions, centered stance, supper poppy flex, and has a much deeper sidecut (read: carved lip spins are insane). I am on bents as my everyday ski, and i freakin love them. they ride almost as well as the seths in the gnar, and are really fun in the park.

As said I rode the THUGs last year for park, and they are the same underfoot as the Hellbents, and I would prefer to go a little smaller than that.

But is the Hellbent really that much more of a "true" twintip, the Obsethed felt great on jumps, landing switch and everything when I demoed them.

What about the weight? Is the a big difference between the two?

obsethed is a sick park ski, go for it in the 179 length and center it. my buddy has a pair of 179s(184) which is his park ski, look

I love my bibbys for everything including park but they are a bit stiff but I like that

I rode some obsethed's in the park yesterday and it was really fun. super buttery and surprisingly responsive for such a big ski. Awesome pop too, ollies over everything.

Although the skis you described would work just fine, you basically outlined all the points that make up the bibby pros.

Definitely look in to them, I know a guy with a pair and he's still 100% satisfied with them despite Whistler's rather... thin season.

try some 179 center mounted hellbents, you won't be disappointed.

dude, i have rode them in the park before. they are fun but they are a chore to do the same things you can do on a smaller ski.

Thanks for the feedback!

You guys that suggest the Bibbys. What is the main reason that I should try them out? They are a little wider but... Is it weight, ability in the park, softer, more of a "true" twintip?

I am looking into buying them within the next week or so. So it would have to bee this years models.

And I want to go bigger than 100mm underfoot and around 190 in the length.

saying bents are too much of a chore to actually do stuff is the truth, sure you can do stuff on them but why when you could ride a ski for park that was meant for it. i can 4 off with my 189 bents, i can pretzel i can do a bunch of things that i can do with my park skis, but why would i do that if i could do it with my park skis easier. its not even an argument just get off of your bents dick. i love my bents but they arent park skis, they arent a good park ski dude. they can be ridden in the park, but they arent a good park ski, thats all there is to it

were the thugs actually too stiff for you? because the only softer ski than the thugs i can really think of is the EP pros. Obsethed seem wayyyy stiffer. I would check out the Bacons, nordica zeros (which are symmetrical, sick for park) or maybe the kung fujas. they are like 95 underfoot, which is a little skinnier than you want, but they have such a nice flex.

The THUGs were too stiff for my liking. They were great in pow, but I would like them to be softer for park. I have been looking at the Bacons, but they are a bit too short. I demoed the Zeros last year, not a ski for me.

When I demoed the Obsethed they felt nice and soft to me, but some of it could be from the rocker.

Does the Kung Fujas come in 189?

Seth's are sick in the park. they are awesome for buttering, super light, poppy, and mob switch. I can't wait until i get mine back.

I doubt you will find a better ski.

I think my mind is pretty set on the Obsethed at the moment! Where do you have yours mounted, and what size do you have compared to your height. I am think 189s mounted at dead center, with my new Jester bindings.

When you say super light, what do you compare them to? I was on a demo pair, and they felt around the same weight as my old THUGs, but then again I was on a demo binding.

Can only agree with you on the butter part, so much fun to butter on those things.

this thread got a little out of hand, but to the OP i ride my obsethed in the park, theyre really fun and i can still throw them around fine...im 5'7 130 lbs on 179's. im posting an edit soon with all obsethed park footy so pm me if u wanna peep it

they are a better all around do everything fat rocked ski because they have a nice stiffer flex and a nice turn radius(26m) switch is nice on the bibbys too

I ride the LL2"s and use them in the park all the time. They handle it great.

Rails: rock solid, ive had no problem with them other than maybe trying really fast sw ups but i dont really do that anyways. The rocker opens up your mind of what can be done by buttering on to rails.

jumps: they work perfectly. They are decently stiff saving you from wheelieing out of everything. The rocker keeps your tips and tails from catching when spinning off lips. once again no hucking 9's off 20 footers but if you want to do that kind of thing a fat rockered ski is not for you.

Fooling around: amazing! butters, presses and all kinds of other tomfoolery is amazing.

All and all a very nice ski for the park, yes they do excel in pow but i have no issues with them as a park ski as well.

not the new ones. back when they were like 99 underfoot and not rockered. im not saying dont get the obsethed, but i fuckin love my bibbys. and they are rockered, which always equals more fun :)
