double backflip on ski boards is not to be confused with an accomplishment. It can be done on tramps, it can be done on skis, therefore it obviously can be done on snowblades which is somewhere in between. not that snowblading is super badass, cause it is.

could be totally wrong about this... but im fairly sure that they were doing double backs on snowblades back in the day when Snowblades were in the xgames and stuff. I dont think thats any new

I love how everyone showing love to the vid has 20 posts or less...what are the chances that these are the same guys from sbol?  Sorry fellas, that video was difficult to watch.  NIG has produced the best skiboarding footage to date.

Yeah, I have less than 20...

I mean sure, it looks stupid as balls, but you have to give them credit for throwin' down. As I recall, I DID see a stomped flat 5 or two. And landing on a two foot long ski sure ain't easy. Yeah, I'll give you that NIG had better footy, but this stuff was still good.

Bottom line:
Yeah, it looks dumb, but props are in order.

Still so much hate on snowblades. Did everyone forget how before twin tips came out all we had was snowblades. When Line started making them I was stoked. In fact, in case you forgot, snowblades were all Line used to make. I first got into doing tricks on skis because I got a pair of snowblades first and once some twin tips came out I switched over. I can't be the only one who started snowblading when there were no twins.

This is the only time I have ever seen Snowblades look good.

Although, I do have to give props to those guys in the first video for throwing a Double.  Doesn't matter the sport, that is a damn hard thing to do and anyone who does one deserves some ups.

thanks bro. i appreciate your honesty. that was me on the flat 5s. i was riding on sally z10 bindings and i did fuck up some of the landings, but others i felt i stomped and the bindings just released for no reason.

needless to say im riding PX-12s now.

i appreciate the kind words guys, and those us you telling me how gay i am, i like you too. we do this because we enjoy it, it's not to make you guys happy, im pretty happy that some of you have matured to the point where you can accept something that's different.

we don't skiboard because we " can't ski " and frankly, the other other people hitting that jump that day were going huge also, and they all were really cool about it.

how many of you even have the sack to try a double back ? honestly... and on skiboards, no less.

seriously grow up guys. if you dont like it don't watch it.

Most of the spins and flips like the flat 5 and I think i saw a rodeo 5 in there, were dank looking.

And no hate from me.  you guys threw down, and even though the sport isn't for me, you guys were having a good time and that's all that matters :)

They finally figured out what that up box on the kicker is for. Its for riding up, doing a switch up, and riding back down. Fuck misty 630s or whatever they threw off that thing.

Some snowblader was slowly going over these rollers after the park and me and my friend raced by him on each side and lauched of the roller. He comes up to me afterwards he's like WOW u guys scared the shit out of me! I lol'd

  You know what...you're right.  I apologize.  I certainly cannot do a double back, or a flat/rodeoish 5 for that matter.  I appreciate the fact that you and your pals are great athletes and that you're out having fun.  I can definitely relate to that.  I guess it just comes down to the fact that I simply don't get it.  I don't understand why someone would willingly, and knowingly, choose to use inferior equipment that eliminates possibilities.  I respect and acknowledge the fact that "twintipping" (as you guys seem to call it) is influenced by skiboarding.  So, I retract my hate, but stand behind my opinion that, aesthetically speaking, skiboarding just doesn't look very good. 

  In any case, keep having fun, and doing it for yourself.  I can respect that.

  NIG still slaaayed you guys though ;)

Not to make fun or anything, but a legit question: why do you ski board.  What can you get out of ski boarding that you can't get out a pair of twin tips.  If you guys would push your skills towards actual skiing, you could kill it.  I just don't really see any apparent advantage to using them.  Seems like the obvious progression is from skiblades (or boards) to normal length skis.

I am pretty sure their choice to skiboard, and mine, has nothing to do with fitting into your definition of cool. We are happy riding what we find fun, whether it is skiboards, twins, both or even snowboardings.

OKay this is for all you people asking why we skiboard. Well almost every skiboarder twin tips it also. Skiboards are a fuckin blast to mess around on. they also are a great way to practice tricks and to learn how to stomp your landings. there also great for anywhere you need mass maneuverability. Don't get me wrong i twin tip, i snoboard, i skiboard, i do any shit that involves snow. its all fun, they all have advantages and disadvantages. just try new things people. it may not look super steezy or anything but its fun. thats why we need more poeple to innovate and have steeze on skiboards. dont knock it till you try it.

its alot of fun...and so is skiing. They are both probably the best possible thing to do in the winter. If I see a snowboarder throwin down I give them props...and these guys were definently throwing down pretty hard.

Skiboarding has had alot of influence in skiing, and now skiing is having alot of influence is skiboarding. Afterbang, Doubleflips, Inline Grinds.....are all comming into the skiboarding world now, which is going to make it a more enjoyable sport for the "style police" to watch. Skiboarding has a niche in the winter sports world in urban settings and especially with innovate grinds. So lets have fun guys....somedays you'll see me riding 178 cm Invaders.....other days (more rarely lately) ill be out on 110cm Revel8s.

Do what you love, and love what you do

If it happens to be skiboarding DO IT
If it happens to be skiing DO IT
If it happens to be both...then do them both
Just have fun...thats what its all about right?

i usually land them. i was using garbage bindings that day (salomon z10's) and kept pre-releasing.

on those shitty bindings i've actually partial-released quite a few times.

we'll see.

Oh skiboarding.  I started out skiboarding.  Not gonna lie it was because I was too broke making $5.15/hr.  to go full length.  I got these old Canon H Series boards for 26 bucks on ebay brand new, took em to my shop at school and epoxied some inserts so I could throw some line ffcams i got for 150.  So basically I got out on the snow for $176.  pretty good deal huh?  yeah i thought so too!  I felt like I progressed as far as I could on half sticks and saved up and bought some 1260's like a real man!.


Props for gettin ballsy but you guys gotta raise your steeeeze factor to at least a L35.  Shit one more level then and you can evolve!

  Not to spit hairs and be argumentative, but it looks like a lot of the falls are simply washouts where you're landing backseat, or over your tips as opposed to pre-releases.  Even in the shots where you "landed" it looked sketch and the ride aways were edited out.  I don't know brother man, props for throwing, but I think you'd probably enjoy cleanly riding away from a flat 5 on skis.
