Help me decide what skis my store carries!

Today at my shop my boss told me to make a list of what skis to get for next year. Im the only freeskier in the shop so he wants to know what are good twins to order. Right now we carry shit... some trouble makers and
Blizzard, its a joke.
So I leave it open to all of ns.com to come up with some ideas.

Stipulations (my boss' rules):
1. Only big(ger) companies (no Coreupt or Faction companies)
2. No discipline specific skis
3. This year, 08/09. (hes a gypsie and buys only closeout)

So please, within these parameters can you help me come up with some skis twins to carry at the store this year?

I've worked in a "not so core" shop before, and there's a reason why you only get "bigger companies". Because in most cases, in a shop that isn't specific, the parents are buying the gear, and most parents don't know armada, coreupt, line...etc

Easy sellers are K2 Silencer and Extreme, Rossignol...like the S3 (great value) and you may be able to get some scratch ghettos or other on close out from last year, Salomon Suspect or even the Threat.

The Volkl Wall is sick, but tend to be a bit pricey. But they have an interesting package price with a marker binding set-up.

Don't forget...if you're selling bindings...order wide breaks, because most standard bindings don't fit. If you want a good binding that sells as a good package with twins...It's the Tyrolia LD12...it might be called the Head LD12 now, but ask your rep. They often don't list that binding on pricelists but make tons of them, and widebreaks can be ordered separately.

Otherwise, rossi makes 2 freestyle bindings already with widebreaks...one is the axial version (199$ canadian), the other is the axium (119$ CDN)

If you could get hold of some DVD's to play, it helps spark a little interest. I still can't believe the amount of people who still dont know we can land backwards!!!!

your boss just told you to decide what skis you want to order? does he realize that if he's buying closeout, he's going to be very limited as far as what is available for him to buy? k2 is basically out of everything last i checked, and i'd imagine a lot of other companies are as well. i'd check with rossi since they usually seem to have stuff left over, but good luck getting k2, dynastar, volkl, or armada.

Line, k2, atomic, salomon. People will buy the bigger brands. If you have some moments or amplids in there even though they are good skis noobs wont know what they are and will be skiddish when purchasing them.

id say armada for sure, then id honestly suggest carrying smaller companies, why not, they will sell if the product seems well made. people look at new stuff. so you rgonna hate me for this but id also suggest ninthward skis because i love the way they ride, super fun 09 skis

dude I was in your EXACT situation last year. I am also the only freeskier in my shop and we're in jersey, so obviously its not a huge market for twin tips. We had virtually none before this year. So what we ended up getting was some fischer addicts on close out (which sell extremely well btw), K2 extremes and silencers, salomon suspects, line chronics invaders prophet 90s and anthems, nordica ignitions, 4Frnt msps and tnks (they sell surprisingly well too), and some womens line, k2, and salomon skis. We also have a pair of bacons and nordica enforcers, which are mostly for display but every once in a while we have a guy looking for fat skis. Our twin tip sales have shot up huge this year and I think the ones we brought in were great for the kind of skiers we have around here. ohh and we're bringing in Armada next season as well. We all try to push the twin tips as much as possible and it works well. U just have to talk about how they are where skiing is all going to be in like 5-10 years. Matt Sterbenz even came in to talk to us as a rep for 4frnt (which was awesome), and he made a great point. He said that you can relate it to buying a car. Would you want to buy the old used car with a ton of miles, or the fresh new car? people relate to that well. Hope I helped

EXACTLY!!!! The problem is my boss is one of these people as well.

He also says that smaller companies dont offer "packages and options"

but thanks to everyone for the list. i have a much better idea

That sounds like a perfect generic setup.  Those should sell.  I assume this is an East Coast shop?
