Just got done playing out on my pond a little while ago and I need a new pair of skates cause mine are starting to get beat, any suggestions on where to look-I dont need really nice ones but used is fine just ones in good condition

either way, id stick with CCM. best boot ever.
i have a little wider foot so ive always stuck with ccm tacks.

I just picked up some CCM Vector V7.0's and I love them.  They are comfy, warm and seem to do the trick.

just go to your local shop and look for some used skates, i've played hockey for like 7 years and i'm a huge fan of the bauer vapor series, i love the vapor 30 and this year i'm using 40's and i'm happy with them, they are super high end tho so you might not need that. i have very wide feet but bauer still fits me the best, i hate ccm

(nike bauer) vapor XXV's
they are apparently lighter than the XXXX's ( i know it sounds rediculous) and they are selling cheap now because theyve been out for a while and NB is supposed to be putting out new stuff in the near future.

yeah but they're so much softer than the xxxx's that they're annoying to skate in
imo the xxx's are definitely lighter and stiffer than the xxxx's, so far the xxx has been my favorite skate they're just hard to find now

i got some bauer vapor VI for about 100 dollars. those are some good cheap skates for outdoor/pond hockey.

or try a used sporting goods store.  i got a nice pair of used grafs there that are probably better then the new vapor VI's i just bought.  i'd use the grafs, but they're on the other side of the country.

when nike bought bauer they didnt change anything with the boot or blade. and they didnt go to shit cuz the one95 and the XXXX are used by so many nhl players. get ur shit straight

I used to love my old Bauer Vapor 10s (era 2000 lol), but when I went to buy new skates the new XXXX and one90 skates seemed....akward.  I ended up buying Grafs instead.

ice hockey ties with skiing for my all time favorite sport to play and watch. sooo much fun. my family sets up an ice rink in my front yard every year with a huge tarp that u pour water on, let it freeze and voila, ice rink. its dope.

i meant that they didnt change the bauer boot into the nike boot. cuz the old straight nike skates were absolute shitt! how can u argue with one of the lightest skates evermade(one95) and with the heat moldable shit, makes them fit perfectly to ur foot. i dont know where ur getting ur nhl skate wearing info but i say bullshit. OO and crosby is a fuckin pussy, hes good but hes a fuckin sell out pusssy!

besides i fucking hate the ls2's, i want to get back to the old days of vapor XX's with the LS1's with the holes in them, those were bomber blades. i hear what you're saying about new skates, my vapor 40's feel like softec comfort skates, there's so much padding and they feel way less stiff than my 30's. i managed to get pro stock ones so they're a little stiffer and more durable but they still feel super different from my 30's. i would've rocked another pair of 30's this season but the 40's were cheap and on ebay. don't blame you with ccm, i hate everything made my ccm, just a personal bias, their shit doesn't fit me and it isn't good quality. what you could do is put a new holster and blade on your 8000's and preserve them, i gotta say, i skated in those for a few years and they were awesome

You really have to size right... you can't have a range like that. Either you're more comfortable sizing down a bit or you aren't... I have a pair of the last model of NHL-level skates made by Nike before they changed everything to Bauer brand, near-new that I would sell, that I think are 11-11.5. If that's your size and you like really stiff skates PM me.
