I've narrowed it down to two skates and can't decide. i started last year and i'm decent, i can't do many tech grinds but i have the basics
these: http://www.aggressivemall.com/Nimh-Brian-Shima-V-2-LE-Complete-Skates-WHITE-p/nimh-shima-v2-wht.htm
or these: http://www.aggressivemall.com/USD-Rachard-Johnson-pro-skate-p/usd-skate-rachard.htm
other suggestions would be nice too
and for you fruitboot haters i have tried skateboarded for two years and just didn't like it i didn't progress much and all of my friends rollerblade.

I haven't rode any of the recent USD's but i can tell you one thing, think about whether you want soft or hard boot. I used to skate hard then I switched to soft, i liked hard better, i'm using deshi ch1's now and i'm like ripping the sides. But i do do a lot of grinding, and since you say you don't soft is lighter but regardless of what material it is, it's gonna rip eventually.

go with the rachards ( if you can find them in size) or remz 0803s

I skate right now and all my friends skate, that being said I hope you get the NIMHs. The rachards are good for vert but not to flexible for street or park. I cant wait till my razors die so i can justify getting some NIMHS. The make your own groove abckslide plate pretty much makes the skate personalized to your own style instead of you personalizing your style to the skate. All you have to do to groove it yourself is spend an hour or so on a low curb with minimal wax doing royals and front or back farvs. personalize your skates and practice tricks at the same time! oh and you can youtube how to do this and find instructional videos as well.
If you feel like looking at other skates I highly suggest XJSADO's (pronounced shadows) they are sweet sweet skates and feel like you have shoes on. Very light, comfy and very wide soul plates on both sides. sick skates.
hope any of this helps if ya have any more questions jus pm me.

Both are really good skates imo they both have their pros and cons usds are really nice in flex and have some descent sized sould plates although they have some weight to them then nimhs are really nice (I had the v1) I loved the make your own groove feature also they have really good support a con to them is that the liners wear down really fast and got very uncomfortable

personally not a fan of either skate, ive ridden both. but i would go with the Rachard if you want a really light skate that has high ankles or get the Shima if you like the feel of Valos because theyre practically the same thing; hard boot covered with a soft shell.
basically, if you like your razors a lot right now, go with the USDs. if you like the feel of Valos, go with Nimh.

Xsjados look futuristic and soo weird. The only ones I've ever liked are the Damien Wilson boot. Stockwells are so ugly.
Anyways, I would say go with the USD's. If you want NIMHs, go with Razor instead. NIMHs are Razors with a skin, plus everyone I skate with say NIMHs are shit
But what do I know, I haven't been doing this for a while, and NIMH/USD/Xsjados are the only skates I haven't tried yet, so I can't exactly have an opinion on them. I did just order a pair of Valos yesterday from AMall though, and I'm so fucking pumped to get them
Anyways, yay rollerblading!
