Ok, so I was hanging out with some friends last night (Ok, so I was at an awesome fun party with friends last night) and one thing led to another and we were talking about loosing your senses. Mostly we were talking about the main two that is sight and sound. Most of us agreed that it would be better to loose your sound than to loose your sight. But than someone was talking about a friend they know who is a musician that became deaf. And at the time there were two drums, two guitars, and some singing going on in the room. This caused me to think of two things. One being: I like sound, and missing out on all the beautiful music and discussions would be tragic. Two being:
What would happen to a skier that lost his sight? Think about it. You go from skiing in the trees searching out cliffs to drop, slide rails, and doing double corks and other flippy spinnies off jumps... to what? If skiing is your number one passion and you loose your sight, what the hell do you do with the rest of your life?
And I am aware that there are blind skiers out there. But I'm talking about one of us who grew up with our sight and have developed our skiing abilities to the point where it just couldn't be possible to do the same without your sight.
