For a while it has seemed as though genuinely nice people
(people who will do kind things for no reward) have all but disappeared but
today my faith was restored.
Today in the backcountry France we had a 1m dump of snow overnight so we were
hiking and hucking cliffs and stuff. I did one and my binding somehow
twisted and broke as I hit the cliff so I landed and lost my ski. Me and my
friend spent about 20 minutes looking for it to no avail until this nice French
man skis up not speaking much English and helps us look. We looked for
another 20mins and are about to give up when Frenchie finds it. This guy
who is pretty gaper (not sure why he was out there) but was passionate happy
and went out of his way, wasted an hour of his day when it was almost dark
helping us. We offered to buy him a drink and give him money but he refused.
This man is a truly nice guy that helped two Aussie girls in need.
Spark Note: We were in the back country lost a ski in the powder. A
random French guy who didn't speak English gave up our day to help.
Has anyone else had people go out of their way to help them when in need?
Anyone got any good stories?
