xavier thall and dumont all had amazing runs and I would hate to be a judge trying to decide who's was the best, but I don't think the number of hits you get should be a deciding factor.
dumont is clearly going into the pipe with the most speed, popping perfectly, and hitting his trannies the best which means he's going the biggest and getting less hits in. and because he gets less hits in he gets scored lower. personally, I think it shows that he's the best technical pipe skier because he knows exactly how to hit the pipe to get the most air and as a result he can float his 12's like 9's. to me this is more impressive than if he went smaller and got another hit in.
the judging is essentially encouraging people to go smaller, wrap their tricks, and get an extra hit in. I think the judging should encourage people to go as big as they can, even if that means they get less hits in.
