Bigger and less hits vs. smaller and more hits

xavier thall and dumont all had amazing runs and I would hate to be a judge trying to decide who's was the best, but I don't think the number of hits you get should be a deciding factor.

dumont is clearly going into the pipe with the most speed, popping perfectly, and hitting his trannies the best which means he's going the biggest and getting less hits in. and because he gets less hits in he gets scored lower. personally, I think it shows that he's the best technical pipe skier because he knows exactly how to hit the pipe to get the most air and as a result he can float his 12's like 9's. to me this is more impressive than if he went smaller and got another hit in.

the judging is essentially encouraging people to go smaller, wrap their tricks, and get an extra hit in. I think the judging should encourage people to go as big as they can, even if that means they get less hits in.

i'd like to see people go big like dumont, but hes only travelling down the pipe. Hall went a full foot higher than him according to x-games height counting.

but i like where your going, i'd rather see people fuckin boost. 600 foot long pipes? yes please.

IMO from personal experience it is more difficult to keep your speed and a lot scarier to boost out of the pipe then do them smaller.

High and distance down he pipe are both sick and should be encouraged, it's not an either or. Oh and Dumont's 12 was huge. I don't care what the height-o-meter said that was by far the biggest hit of the night.

I'd like to see huge height and long travel down the pipe, so they can float their tricks and make it look way nicer, then when they really have to crank out that last 360 which looks sloppy.  I also want to see perfect exit and entry of the pipe, so the run is smooth

To me, more hits are important, because it's way harder to link 7 difficult tricks than 5, even if you are going bigger on those 5.

I think Xavier showed the best pipe technique without a doubt. He hit perfect tranny every time, went big, and did tech tricks.. His last hits were a 12 in one run and sw right 10 to left 10.. throwing your biggest tricks on the last hits takes that level of skill, and having enough speed to throw a 12 on your 6th hit also takes that level of skill.. i think thats why he won and deserved it..
Footnote: Simons 12 was perfect not taking anything away from that

Bigger is better. I am 6'3''. I win just by standing up every day.

Jokin aside. Anyone ever seen a kid called jonny marks hittin up the pipe. I dunno how big a name the guy is but I saw him competin at 48straight in squaw last year. Damn he sends it big down the pipe!! Def a kid to watch out for

tanner was going higher than dumont and xavier was going just as big but dumont travels further down the pipe. I like seeing more hits also it makes your run more difficult b/c you have two more tricks to execute

think of it like this if some one does 5 hits and another person gets say 7 or 8 you can be a better judge of things because there are more tricks to judge, get me?

I'd like to see more hits. Sure, you're not going as high, but that means that you're going to have to speed up your spins and throw inverts in, too. With bigger hits, it ends up being spin to win.
