Macbook pro help

    hey, so today all of a sudden i went to turn on my unibody mbp, and it started up at first with the regular white screen with grey apple, then went to the blue screen right before everything is up, but then it went to a second blue screen with the spinning pinwheel thing like in the initial startup and would just go back and forth between the two bluescreens.

    i have tried everything i could off of the apple website short of using a osx 10.5 startup disc, and linking up to another mac to start it up. because i do not have my osx10.5 disc with me(i am at school 4 hours away from where my disc is), and i do not have a firewire 800 to firewire 400 cable either.

     i am obviously going to call apple tech support when it is open, along with taking it into an authorized reseller if tech support fails, i just want to find out if anyone else has had this problem and found a way to solve it.

i am in victoria where i dont think there are any apple stores, or else i would. the computer store at my university is basically an apple store and they are certified to repair apple computers so i think thatll be close enough to a genious.

I have the last gen of the MBP and something similar happened to me. You're probably gonna need the disk. They'll send you a new one if you don't have access to it though.

try a safe boot up if you haven't already. Hold down the shift key right after you hear the tone at start up.

HAHAH and my lame as PC doesnt have a hard time finding tech support, and I didnt waste 1000 extra dollars on it!!!

Because they come with very little extra software than a pc. So your spending about 800+ dollars for stupid extra software, yeah good one!

Really? Who makes your PC? I would like to see you find someone that works for Dell, Gateway, Asus, Toshiba, Acer, HP, or whoever at a store where you can show up and have them diagnose your problem. Its not like you can't take a mac to Geek Squad or, like he said, his university computer store. Everybody fixes macs these days.

1000 extra dollars? Find me a similarly spec'd laptop with the same size, weight, trackpad, and software. Not to mention Using OS X is a much better experience than using Vista or XP.

If you don't mind spending the money, there is a Mac store downtown off of Douglas. I remember a friend going to them with his Macbook when it shit out on him. Forget the name though.

Soho Computers. Super Legit. Only mac shop I deal with.


And phone apple support. If they can't help, you'll get a service number thing. Then all you do is bring it to soho and they fix it. All free since you have applecare and I already told you this..

because the thread poster was saying he was having trouble finding an apple store for support, not just plain old support. The person I quoted was acting like he couldn't find support at all, when in fact he could.
