Colby James West for X-Games Host! I'm amazed they still give him a spot. Hes my favorite skier overall, but he is nowhere close enough to having the seriousness that these other X-Games athletes have. Hes just so dang goofy!

honestly, cut him a break. He knows the basics (and then some) of EVERY X games sport. I think he does well. Sure, he can't tell the difference between a flat 3 and a rodeo 5, but at least he doesn't say "skier slide" and "skiing backwards"

Sal only fails that much greater with Todd Richards there, Richards killed it on the commentary and all Sal  could do was build off what he said.

But I think that Rice talking about "slippery nipple (bleeped out)" was my favorite part.

Well its like, I dont skateboard but i know all the trick names, I don't snowboard but i know all the trick names, I REALLY don't bmx and i know all the trick names, just from passively seeing that shit on tv i managed to pick up more knowledge than Sal Masakela did in calling ten years of X games. I think they give him a role to play of the like WAAOOH!! WHAT WAS THAT?!?! SO EXTREME!!!! type of guy just to get the energy going at the events. Cuz I mean shit that guy needs to smoke a j and calm down a little bit.

you kids talking about colby obviously have no idea how hard he works. he works so fucking hard its unbelievable i admire his work ethic more than any skier ive seen. the guy does not drink or smoke (at least he didnt in the past im not sure if that still holds true now), and just fucking kills it every day hes out skiing. obviously he's really funny too and that's what hes mainly known for now, but he's the hardest working skier ive seen. ive never seen anybody progress as fast as he did and go pro as soon as he did from not skiing newschool till he was 18.

Actually met Sal last night at the Freeskier party. SUPER nice guy. When I told him I wrote for NS, he actually told me he loves Newschoolers.com and comes to the site to find out what's happening in skiing. One of the coolest compliments this site has ever gotten.
