agreed. tanner owned.

...and snowboard big air? travis rice didn't even deserve to be in the final. and the format? so retarded. even though the judges clearly have their heads in their asses they still know more than the dumbass public. i don't even want to watch ski big air.

all of those face-off elimination events are so gay.  you end up with like... olsson and dumont matched up in the first round and you never end up seeing the people that you really want  take more than two hits.

In my mind, the X games isnt really for the competition as much as it is a chance for skiing to showcase its sport to the public. If it was just for us, everyone would be wearin tall tees and smokin bowls and doing kang grabs. But no, in my mind, this is a chance for us to show how far the sport has come to the average kelsie on the street. The only way to keep them engaged is by hyping the unhypable (tanner simon) and having you yourself vote for them.

Sparknotes: We should focus on what X games does for our sport, as it is catering to the tired businessmen and goofy teenagers who watch basketball in their free time (yes thats me too)

While i agree that xgames is THE stage to showcase our sport, i'm not quite sure it should be at our expense. the public is going to watch regardless... so why can't we expect honest and fair judging? i think we could suffer for it. for example, travis rice won just by entering the big air (slight exaggeration? maybe..). In my opinion Bang deserved to win and move on to the finals. travis didn't land one of his big doulbles clean. the mere fact that he's american and that other than shawn white he's the only other name known to the public shouldn't give him the win. xgames might suffer because foreigners might not even bother in the future.

Judging was horrible in that comp, I didn't get it but whatever.  How does a dub flip to HUGE alley oop flat five shifty, to 1260 combo not get scored higher?  That is the sickest combo I have ever seen.  Tanner should have won, but it is good to see someone else win...
