Can Hemp get you High?

no it cannot get you high, so don't go smoking your hemp necklace. Good question though. The reason why hemp cant get you high THC levels are very low/almost none. It used be use to make paper, rope, and other items. Hemp seeds or nuts are a great source of protein and good fat. I only know that because my roommate who is all about health food and shit like that.

Don't hate. But pretty much everyone in this thread is wrong.

Cannabis sativa (the stuff you smoke) can contain usually around 6-10% THC and even as much as 20%. Some growers have claimed to extract even more.

Cannabis indica (commonly known as hemp) used for industrial purposes in almost every country except the U.S. contains very little THC. Usually around < 0.5%. But it's been found to have as much as 1 or 2% THC.

So technically you could get "high" off of industrial hemp. You would have to have the plant, you couldn't go smoking your necklace or t-shirt.

But know this, if you could smoke enough to get that much THC in your system, you would feel like shit and probably have a headache more than anything. You'd probably get a tiny buzz. Nothing more than your first cigarette.

Dont mean to sound like a jerk but you dont just smoke sativa. Indica is actually my preffered high. the sativa gives you a more cerebral high, like a really stoned feeling in your head, and the indica is a heavy body high and will put you to sleep if you smoke too much its great. hybrids are a cross between an indica and a sativa strain and are good also.

and smoking your hemp necklace will get you as high as if you smoked a ball of twine so you probably shouldnt try haha

yeah but that's because the primarily active ingredient in indica isn't THC, it's CBN/CBD. Good indica has THC but the stoned, sleepy feeling you get is the other shit. Sativa is what has the THC and it's what marijuana is supposed to be, heady and energetic. Hemp doesn't have much of anything, and that's why it's legal.

hell yea dorito you know your stuff, sometimes that indica just hits the spot, but i cant ski with that stuff..i usually cant move haha the energy that sativa gives you is much better

Contrary to common belief, yes. Not by smoking, you could use it to make hash OR you could heat it, soak it in the highest percentage alcohol you can find (i used 151 proof, but some use 191 proof i believe) - alcohol extracts the THC - then strain it. look up green dragon.

the THC isnt removed, not scientist go in to every hemp plant and remove all the THC, there just is none, it cant be smoked, BUT it has HUNDREDS of other uses, some being potential renewable energy, why it gets no studies done, hemp is in the same class as marijuana, so no one wants to globalize it, our government is fucking retarded, end of story

Yeah, it's one of the most useful plants known to mankind... want to stop killing rainforests? Make paper out of hemp. It's better anyways. Want clothes that are durable and comfortable out of materials that can be grown anywhere? Buy hemp. Those are just two out of, as you said, 100s of uses... so fucking frustrating. I think that, if God exists, one of the biggest things he intended for us that we failed to do was embrace cannabis as a society. Like honestly, why else would it be as useful as it is in SO many different aspects? Makes no sense...
