Replying to Salomon Suspects
I got a pair of 181 salomon suspects with the salomon STH14 bindings from proctor jones (amazing site) for christmas and I am in love with these skis. They perform very well on flats, they are very versitile. I can do snappy short swing turns and hard gs-style wide radius turns with ease. They handle pretty well in the powder and all-mountain. In the park they are very stable on landings and give you some nice pop on takeoffs. I found them a little stiff to butter at first, but after I got used to the flex I can pop 180s and 360s pretty easily off the ground. When skiing switch it feels nice to be able to ride out your edge on a switch turn. They are also INDESTRUCTIBLE. I was at Jay Peak last weekend cruising through trees (no fresh powder but there were still a few untouched locations). On more than one occasion I felt a rock or tree route hit my base and edges with significant force and there is minimal damage! only a few streaks on the base, and the edges are fine!
I've skied salomon twins almost exclusively for many years now, I've ridden the 1080 spaceframes, the CR pros, the SPKs and loved each of them individually. The Suspects do not disappoint either, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a versatile park ski that can hold its own anywhere on the mountain.
