X Games, Henrik and Wallisch

Everyone was freaking out in the x games update, i must have seen at least 30 posts asking why henrik and wallisch aren't in the x games. It's my understanding that to get invited to x you need to have major comp results from the previous year, so why is everyone freaking out that these two didn't get invited? Although i do agree that they both probably could have a decent shot at winning, and i love to watch them, isn't x basically for pros that have been established for at least a year?

And on another note, it still says Jacob will compete in big air. Is his leg ready? i thought it has only been like a month, which would be pretty fast for a broken leg to heal.

I thought I read somewere it wasn't a break it was like a sprain or somthing mild.

Wallisch placed 2nd in Aspen open last year, 6th in European Open, and got finals in everything else he competed in. Henrik just got 3rd at dew tour, 1st at megapark where he did the switch 16, and 5th (i think?) at Euro Open last year. Both those seem pretty good comp results if ya ask me. not sure about Jacob, hope hes okay

jacob did not break his leg.. he sprained his calf muscle. judgin by his blog entries he was still having problems with it a few days ago but since he went to aspen yesterday i assume it has improved since then.

and about your other point:
i mostly agree with you but apart from that i think its kind of odd that someone like peter olenick and tanner rainville is invited to competing in slopestyle. both of them havent been competing in slopestyle for ages let alone any podium positions

agreed about those two, but they have been sponsored riders for years who at one time had podium finishes. from other threads on this subject, it has sounded like the people who vote athletes into the x games would be more likely to pick these types than the fresh kids who throw down harder, but have fewer top finishes and fewer big name sponsors. it's a pity, i think, because henrik and tom, along with many other young skiers, could own at the x games in front of a big audience. and with the cancelation of US open slope, it's gonna be hard for new kids to get exposed

X Games seems to be pretty loyal to those who have competed in the past, they dont drop kids really and add people sparingly it seems.  Bobby Brown could have got in I would bet if he/his sponsors really made a push.  Wallisch will get there but needs a big comp result (2nd at Aspen open was legit thought!)  Harlaut, is a tough call he won some Euro events last year and already did well at Dew with one podium so tough to say why he didn't make it. 

Anyway I think it is a double edged sword that X Games is loyal to the riders, don't see some talent that sould be there get invites yet some invited are maybe past their prime but have always been there so public recognizes them (and X would like general public to recognize peeps from year to year similar to people know top golfers, there are a ton of good ones so they have to focus on the "name brands"). 

Good and bad but I see their reasons, that said NO one would have been pissed at TWall or Harlaut getting an invite and would have brought some FIRE to that course.  I think they need to apeaze the loyal voice of their core market as well as looking at just numbers/results, would have made us all so damn stoked.

because x games is gay and just wants big name pros so they can get more people to watch= which means more money. tom is getting big though, but they might not realize that
