Park, Pipe, and Jib ski's!

Hey there! I'm looking for some all around park ski's, Stiff enough big jumps, playful enough for butter's and such, and strong enough to handle abuse from rails etc. I'm 6'3 and 200lbs and a fairly aggresive skier. I've been looking at ski's such as Line Anthems, Amplid Antidogma, Volkl Wall, K2 disorderly's, Armada THall/Pipe cleaner, Salomon dumonts, etc. I really like the ideas Amplid has going on, same with the Line's. A Center mount ski would be ideal as well as either a symetrical ski or one that will ride switch very well. Thanks everyone!

check out boone skis, they are actually really sick. the whole idea behind them is that they keep them soft enough to be playful and solid enough for big jumps because they add a little extra camber to make up for not being super stiff. i havent gotten a chance to ski them yet but they are SICK looking and everybody who has ridden them loves them.

i ride the line chronic s and there great ... great handiling from groomers to pow to big jumps to rails... i love the skis u should look into them

Chronics are pretty soft, definitely wouldn't get them if you're looking for something burly. If you want a STIFF ski get Volkl bridges. Dumonts are fairly stiff as well and more park specific. Dumonts have double edge armour which would help as far as durability, but solly lately has already been good as far as ski longevity.

Id say don't get anything made from salomon, (ie the Dumonts), if your worried about them being sturdy enough, their warranty also sucks

from the only boones ive seen, they seem to have durability issues.  my friend loves them, but has gone through a few skis already.  get them if your willing to deal with that

i ride anthems too...they are mad fun to do butters with and they hold up wicked well on jumpsand also vewry sturdy on rails

4frnt TNK's. Fairly stiff to handle big jumps but still butterable, good pop, and 89 at the waist and surprisingly good all around the mountain. I am 6'1" 180 an aggressive skier and I've dropped cliffs, skied pow, hit 65ft jumps, and hit urban on these skis and they work well on everything.

i dont know if i would recomend anthems to you since your a bigger guy, they are a very fun ski, but the walls rip everything, there symetrical also so its perfect for center mount, very stable on jumps and rails, and kills the groomers as well

So I've been looking around a bit more, any thoughts on the Rossi S4's? As well looking at the 4FRNT TNK's, Head JO pro? and Volkl Walls. Basically something stiff enough for a big guy like me but still really playful, lots of butter-ability and pop. Loking to not spend to much on these as well. Again, thanks everyone and big ups!

Plus the race base makes life easy in the park.  Such an awesome ski, especially if you are big guy like us.

A sintered race base is more dense than a normal extruded base.  I have had experience with the TNK and the Pipecleaner and both held up nicely.

i dont know what chronics you are talking about but the Line Chronic is really fucking stiff and is the best jump ski made by that company.

2008 Dumonts are money, I have no idea about the 09's. Fairly stiff, great for jumping, and rails. Butters are a bit harder but you can still do them. Easy to ski switch, def a great choice

i agree the 2008 dumonts are great, never heard anything bad about them. but the 09s are where the problems are, alll the 09 sollies are breaking about 20 days into the season. i wouldnt trust that edge armour crap from what ive heard

The TNKs were fun until all my edges ripped out and the ski started to delam underfoot.  If you want shotty construction and poor customer service, get these.

They were fun to ski though, the construction was just shitty.


you are bigger, so maybe you should think about getting something like the k2 extremes?

how has nobody suggested the reno jibs?

they are absolutely amazing skis

im 5'9'' and 140 lbs and they are super fun skis to mess around on, they are amazing on jumps, and have done wonders on rails for me

super poppy
very lightweight
very durable
mid-stiff flex
symmetrical

just in general they are by far the best skis ive ever ridden
they are a little stiff at first, keep in mind I went from invaders to jibs, but they break in within a weekend of riding and are amazing!!!!!!!!

the only problem ive had with mine is topsheet chipping, but that happens with almost all skis

oh yeah, and they have the fastest race base made

and this base is pretty durable, all my friends and I went powder skiing on our first big storm of the year when there were still giant boulders that werent completely covered, and we all had pretty bad encounters with these rocks and I was the only one out of all my friends who didnt get a core shot

So I have kind of narrowed it down, I'm really leaning towards the 4FRNT TNK's but I also really like the Volkl Walls. Would Pipe Cleaners bases hold up to rails? Are Liberty Phil Larose pro models siff?

on a scale of like 1 to 10 how would you rate them?
I've been looking into moment skisand they look sick anyone have good revews on them?
Cause from the two post about them they sounds super sick and whuat this guy is looking for to
and the whole square thing looks super sick to!

I would definately consider the Athems or Chronics, they're both made for park, pipe, and jumps, but the athems are a bit more flexible for butters etc. For the price the anthems are definately worth it, wish i went with the wider ski.

antidogma would be my choice! i rode salomon dumonts and really didnt like them after antidogmas my friend bought the volks and hated them so sold them and dont really no about the lines so yeh just my 2 cents!

Update, I've been playing with a few different ideas but am still having troubles deciding. 4FNT TNK's and Moment Jibs are my two biggest chioces right now. I really don't want to spend to much but still get a bomber ski. Also if people have some recomendations for a solid park binding that would be cool. I've been looking at griffons, px12's, sth, and deadbolts.
