the only snow movie that I have seen really cross cultural divides is

well truthfully, i asked the same question, but then i saw stack footy by think thank or some shit, and its the vibe that i wish ski movies would move more towards. kinda hunting yeti-esk where its less of a baller ass video and more of just a few guys having fun and filming it.

I was showing someone who has never skied and only snowboarded a few times when he was a kid TURBO the other day and he was literally exploding. Couldn't stop saying how he never knew skiers were even capable of that shit, and how ridiculously impossible all the tricks looked despite how easy the riders made them look. My life felt very, very complete.

haha, I showed my friend who skis a little turbo and t-walls zero at windells came on and I was like flipping trying to explain to him the epicness of that trick and he was like, "dude, that sucked, he didn't even move" haha

Ya alright its true.  but i think it would be cool to make a movie with a plot other that skiing but still incorporate skiing into it.  I think it would give a lot of attention to our sport.

This happened to me too. I showed my friend who doesn't ski this edit with Ahmet Dadali, Mike Hornbeck, and Henrick Harlaut (sp?) and it has all these super technical box and rail steezy tricks and my friend was just like "yeah that stuff is kind of boring. Once you've seen that, you've seen it all." Then Henrick does this steezy 180 over a little table and my friend started freaking out and being like "that was the coolest thing ever!!! all videos should be like that" I laughed a little and didn't say anything cause i knew i couldn't explain it.

it's on comcast ondemand under free movies.

Ski films, like the ones that all the am and pro companies make, only appeal to fanatic skiers. If you want something that appeals to non-skiers than something like Steep is probably something in the right direction. A 'true' documentary would really be the only thing that would appeal to them, that.. or a hollywood type sports movie. Then there's all the hollywood ones like hot dog and ski school etc. etc.
