Helmet Strength after Impact

So the helmet I have now has experienced a number of large collisions.  I was wondering if its efficiency and safety have been damaged and if I am putting myself at risk.  Or, is this bullshit and its fine as is.

definitely not as good as it was cause the Styrofoam is compressed now but it will still protect you from some head related injuries. definitely not huge ones though like a brand new helmet would.

You might want to replace it after the first few times you hit your head pretty good. But what do I know? I've been skiing with the same helmet since 2005 and have hit my head with it on more times than I can count.

a helmet is designed to eggshell (with the exception of bern hardhats) so if its taken a nasty impact, replace it, it may still work, but it wouldnt pass tests now

eggshelling would be that it can only really take one really hard hit then it cracks or the styrofoam inside will crack

i have had a bern helmet for two years and it has endured many impacts.... recently however i tried a cork 7 on a 10 foot table and over rotated, yes over rotated and smaked my head on the ground.. my helmet blew out the back split like an egg shell.. it was icey, i was fine however... i assumer this is what the helmet is supossed to do. on empact the styrafoam compressed and exploaded to soften impacts and it worked i was even shaken up deipite the fact that my friend thought i died when my head hit the ground

They are generally designed to take one large impact, so if in doubt - replace it.
