im goin up to one of my least fav east coast mountains with my school sat. the mnt has some decent "glades" to the side that are more like access roads. we have bout 2 ft of snow with a layer of ice then prolly an inch of pow. whats the best way to go about building a little booter? make a pile of snow and sculpt it? im only talking about a ten ft gap to a nice landing area i scoped out.
for a quick school trip, with limited time, i'd say do what you planned. just pile up the snow around it. reinforce the base so you don't need to keep working on it. just sculpt from there.
