so i just got a hv30 its a sick camrea i need a super good editing program that can render in hd

i was thinking vegas 9.0 cause of the price

what would be a good edting program

vegas sounds good. I use primere pro cs3 which is kinda annoying with hdv video. If theres any gap in the footage, after that the sound is all messed up. After i capture a vid to my computer, i have to convert it to an mp3 and sync the two up

you can get lots of editing software offline for free too. (you didnt hear that from me) but just check youtube

yea i have an hv30 and i use vegas and after effects. after effects i barley use i only use it for certain clips, its not really necessary. but yea you can easily save somemoney and get them online for free. yea pm me if you have any questions about anything

i have the whole cs3 suite but i prefer to use sony vegas because i am more familiar with the layout/functions having used other similar sony products in the past. google "adobe cs3 master collection corporate edition torrent",  im sure the torrent is still out there, corporate edition allows you to skip some of the registering of the software

Is Vegas easier to use then After Effects though? Cause After Effects is a pain in the ass for me

If you're a student, you should be able to pick up Final Cut Express for around $85. It's like Final Cut Pro but you don't get any of the extra software (you get LiveType for titles but not special programs just for colour correcting etc.) FC works very smoothly with HD video. Then again, it also depends on your computer and whether you have enough RAM to run the programs smoothly.

for me it is but that may not be true for everyone. I think if you are having probs with after effects then you should give it a try, you can still do the same stuff for the most part i find the interface to be more user friendly in vegas

vegas is definatly easier. after effects is really only meant to be used for different clips and not an entire edit. so if i wanna do a title or some eefct in ae i just do it in ae then render and then put the clip in vegas with the rest
