AR6 vs. ARV

Looking for a good all-mountain ski. Since I'm going to college and space will be tight, I need this to be a sort of one ski quiver. I want something that will be good in the park, stable and nice on groomers, but also be able to float nicely on the powder and the occasional BC trip back home. I know it's a lot to ask for, and I obviously don't expect it to do everything perfectly.
When I searched, the only thing I came up with was that the ARV is a little lighter and wider. Advice
I'm 5'8" and 145-150lbs. AR6 comes in 166 and 171 and the ARV comes in 165 and 175. Opinions on length and how long or short both of them ski?

you should probably go with the arv in 175. I have 07 ar6s, but have skied 09 arvs. I love my ar6s to death, but they are more of a park oriented ski. I mean, I've skied them everywhere you can imagine, but since i also have a pair of bacons... i use my ar6s mostly for park. The arv is definitely a solid ski.

and, go 175 for sure

I own both

AR6 u get more durability for the park and they don't do good in more than say 8 inches of pow. So figure out where u want to ski. 171cm lenght is fine but with your weight add in your strength and agresiveness.  u may be able to go with 176.  176 will be better on icy hardpack and bigger landings if u can handle it, The 171 will be easier should be good. Good in all conditions.Better for park than ARV

ARV has(needs) a faster base because it is wider. It  is not as tough as the AR6. So u have to show it more care & respect. So it is occaisonal park use and not for a lot of slammin. Has way better float. And is better in slough, chop and crap & pow. 175 should be good. All mtn and does pow & easy park.
