Horstman Glacier (the one that the camps in Whistler run on, COC, Momentum, etc.) has shrunk an absolutely unbelievable amount in the last ten years.
The showcase t-bar line used to be snow on top of glacial ice, now the majority of it is snow on top of rock. The loading area for Horstman T-bar has been moved about 150 meters uphill because the glacier that it used to sit on is gone.
Call it global warming, climate change or whatever you want, but that glacier is disappearing so fast it's mindblowing.
Remember, when you look at pictures from camps, you only see the snow on top and if it was a good winter, it looks great up there, but you don't really get an accurate picture of what the glacier looks like underneath.
Try going up there in September sometime when the snow is gone and it's only glacier, then compare it to September 10 years ago if you can find pictures, you will be blown away.
If they get a couple of really lean snow winters, it will be nearly impossible for camps to continue.
