i need some suggestions, i have been going through about 2 pairs of mittens a year but this year i would like to get a nicer pair that can hopefully hold up better .... where should i look ? i've been looking at helly hansen but i'm not sure really
I just recently bought some Dakine Rover mitts and for the 3 or 4 times I have taken them up so far, they have been sick. On some of the days they were almost too warm. They are super comfortable as well. As Ive pointed out I haven't had them for long so I cant really speak on their long term durability, but with the leather palms I expect them to last a while. They start at around 70 bucks, but with the discount code I got them for closer to 60.
I don't know anything about the Cloudveil mittens, but I have heard good things about the Dakine Mustang line. If you do decide to get the Mustangs, I would recommend you get them from Backcountry. They have them for the same price, and I have always had excellent service from them.
just my opinion.
The last few years I've been wearing Auclair cross country ski gloves and mittens. The cost $30-$40, have a leather palm/fingers and keep me warm in weather from -5C to -50C.
i got some burton baker mitts a month ago and theyre working great, i work as a liftie too, so i use them every day, no wear yet, and theyve been warm for the most part, ( got a little chilly on the below 0 days but i think that expected)
