Which resorts to hit in Tahoe?

So I'm gonna be in South Lake for a few days. Prolly gonna ski two days and I'm wondering which two resorts I should hit. I'm a park rat but if there's freshies (Going in two weeks) then I'll ski anywhere. As far as parks are concerned, what two mountians have the best set up right now? I was thinking Heavenly and Squaw. I don't mind driving either.

Are you saying that Mammoth is totally a better mountain than Squaw, because I was just having a conversation about how Mammoth was lame because it was positioned based on snowfall not gnarly skiing.

depending on weather, it might be pretty hard to get from south lake to north lake. If you're in south lake, and you're a park rat, then hit up heavenly or sierra. for freshies, kirkwood. if you can make it to north lake, then squaw.

So I skied heavenly and was not impressed at all. Not enough vertical and too many flat spots to get from the california to the nevada side. I had a girl friend of mine with me, who is a snowboarder and she had to unstrap multiple times to get around on the flat spots. Skied Sugarbowl the next day....that's a pretty fun mountian.
But all in all....Tahoe is a fun town to be in....but for skiing, I'll stick to Mammoth. More vertical, more snow, better parks.

tahoe is an area, unless you're talking about tahoe city. You can't judge tahoe by heavenly and Sugar Bowl by any means especially since the snow has been sucking major ass everywhere in CA.

dude if you're staying in south lake theres no way you're going to want to to commute an hour to squaw, just get a full day in riding heavenly or kirkwood

That doesn't make sense, Heavenly has more vertical than Mammoth.
Why did you pick Sugar Bowl over Squaw? Sugar Bowl is fun and all, don't get me wrong....but Squaw in my mind is the sickest of all Tahoe resorts.

Heavenly does not have more skiable vertical then Mammoth.
And I wanted to hit squaw....but the chick I was with was too scared to ride squaw.

Well you can't say that the skiing is better in Mammoth without riding Squaw, because the best skiing in Mammoth is off Chair 23, and that can't compare to KT, and we still have headwall and Silverado for some more gnar gnar, and there's Granite, and all the peaks. Mammoth could have way sicker positioning, but they put it there based on snowfall.
