so some of you may remember the thread i posted about how on my new dumonts after 10 days the edges had cracks and an edge pulled out which made the edge armor pull out the p-tex,  well  i sent them in like every one told me to and they sent them back saying they have been skied to hard and this voids the warranty, well i laughed becuase the only thing they experienced was park citys little jib park and some groomers early season. i have now also read other threads about the same thing happening to other dumonts and suspects with in a madder of 10 to 20 days of riding, and then salomon not warrantying them, i think salomon and there egde armor is a joke and people should not support comanys like these any more,

Quit your bitching. It's rail damage. No-one will warranty that.

I had a pair of skis from a major supplier delam 6 inches at the tip the first day I hit big kickers on them and that company refused to warranty, even though my shop stocked a lot of their product. Does that mean that company makes shitty skis? No. Does that mean I bad mouth the company? No.

were those skis supposedly the most durable skis for kickers, or so the company said?  were they branded as "kicker-related problem friendly"?  no, salomon said that their 09 setups were going to be suuuper durable and "jib-friendly", but theyre falling apark left and right from kids who have ridden them 10 days.  his problem isnt that they broke, and if you look back and read his first thread you will see that, but he is angry because a ski that he probably bought so they wouldnt do this, did, and now they wont do anything about it.

I dont think it would matter if some was 13 or 63. They would still be pissed if they spent there money on skis and they fall apart just like that.

I told some other guy in a thread to grow up because he wants to get his dog high, now that makes sense but telling someone to grow up because they are pissed that their JIB specific skis are total pieces of shit and he can't warranty them...that's fucking ignorant and simply arrogant. You are a piece of crap my man. Nonetheless, your so called "rail damage" is not a reason for these skis to fuck up. I was told when my bought my skis this year that any defects or if they fuck up early on would be warranteed. Salomon just fucked up. And your a total dick. So you and salomon both suck.

what are you talking about dude? lots a companys will warrenty rail damage. most companys are nice enough to. if a company like salomon(who obviously has a ton of money) isnt willing to its bullshit. salomon is one of the biggest companys with freestyle now and if there not willing to back there product its gay. i havent been a fan of salomon ever since i step backed and actually took a look at what they were doing. sure they might have some of the best  riders in freeskiing. sure they might be making sick events for kids like jib accedemy but all other companys are out there for just the same reason just dont have the money to do it. so the least salomon can do it back there product.

This whole thread makes me laugh, not at your skis being fucked up (because that is soo shitty), but because of the way this thread deteriorated. But anyway, if I were you, I would keep up on the situation, sending a letter like the previous guy said, is probably a pretty good idea. Also, I'll send them an email for you, I wont mention your personal situation, but I will tell them that practices of this sort are indeed, unlegit.

shut the fuck up!!!! i had a pair of dynastar kids troublemakers when i was younger and they broke after a year and a half. i sent them in and they sent me brand new ones and mine were 05 skis and they sent me 06 skis. it was really nice of them.

and to thread creator. call salomon and tell them you want ur money back or at least some renbursment(sp).

normally, a company is not going to warranty rail damage. however, since rail damage on a salomon can completely destroy the ski now, that might be a different story. did you deal with salomon directly, or did you go through a shop? i've had nothing but good experiences dealing with their warranty department in the past.

but yeah same thing at my hill happened. kid hit a rail, his edge ripped out, pulling part of the edge armor out, and rippling the base on his suspects. pretty shitttty. and like people said, they marketed the suspects as such a good ski and how edge armor was this new technology that will hold you skis together and make the edges stronger, and be able to take the abuse on rails. but we all kno now it was complete bullshit. im sorry for you man, thy wont warrenty my friends skis. i hope you have better luck.

i think any company that makes a park specific ski should warrenty them if something happens, like an edge ripping out or something to that sort, something legit. not like oh my skis chipped i want a new pair. but owell thats my personal opinion.

Still, it seems like a lot of new Salomons are breaking, which would seem to imply that the skis are poorly made, and some other companies will warranty rail-damaged skis even when their warranty says otherwise.

In other poor-quality Salomon news (bit of a thread jack, sorry), my Salomon Supernatural pants that I got a month ago (just before Christmas) have begun to fall apart already, the seams came apart in the crotch, and along one of the pockets. I didn't do anything with them that I didn't do with my old North Face pants which are still going strong after 3 seasons minus big tears on the cuffs from edges hitting them. They are really comfortable, warm and stylish pants, but it is hard to believe how quickly they came apart, with just normal skiing wear and tear.

I think that he present his argument fairly well and really wasn't "bitching" at all, just looking for others opinion on the matter. And skis that delamed the first day you jumped on them? That sounds pretty suspect to me of poor workmanship in the skis....

haha, thats funny, Salomon is getting too corporate,  but i have a pair of the 06-07 foils that i have skied hard since i got them and they have held up awsome, Hopefully this is just some problem with their new skis and they will get their shit together for next year. sorry about your suspects too, shitty.

you're probably not doing anything simon can't do, so therefore the "skiing too hard" argument is bs
salomon set a poor example and i don't plan on buying their skis anytime soon based on this and other people's experiences...
the edge armor statement is obviously false advertising so call them out on that too.
they need to back up their technology with a warranty that affirms the benefits of it, otherwise it's just a gimmick.

fyi, line sure as hell covers "rail damage."  my gf had invaders for an entire season and then tore an edge off.  we showed them to the line rep and he replaced them with this year's setup.  

if its a "jib" ski as solly claims, they should cover jib damage.

even if salomon does not warranty rail damage, the fact is that they didnt say they wouldnt warranty them because of the rail damage, they said they wouldnt warranty them because they were "skied too hard", that is easily the dumbest excuse i have ever heard a company make when dealing with warranties.

The edges on my suspects are cracked already. Im hoping they dont rip out.

I would keep bothering the company and try to talk to someone in charge until they agree to warranty them. It's one thing if you have had them for over a year and they break but when they break right away like that they should give you new ones. If they arent gonna warranty for that what will they warranty for???

+1 And to Bambam, if a company markets a ski as "jib proof" and the supposed "rail armor" actually fucks up the ski worse than rails would without the alleged armor then there is definitely an issue here. I have heard of lots of ski companies (mainly smaller, independent companies with smaller budgets than the monster freeski exploiter Soloman) stand behind their product through moderate rail damage. Technine, the snowboard company is a great example. Last season my friend went through 4 decks because he kept breaking them from riding hard. Not only did they warranty every one but they next day aired it back to him so he could get out and ride right away and they even hooked him up with next years product. I dont understand why giant companies like Soloman can't afford to do this.
