Roommates

What do you do with roommates who steal your shit and then deny it?

So far, since she has lived here (December), I have been missing...

A turquoise ring
Two white plates
A couple pieces of silverware
A pair of ski socks (my favorite pair BTW)

And she uses my toothpaste and shampoo. She also NEVER cleans up after herself.

Sorry for my small rant, but I'm fucking pissed.

i have a single, so no roommate, but every kid here steals shit from every other room. Its like an unwritten rule/ritual. You get something stolen but in return you get alot of shit back. since thats the case for me, i dont know how to help ya. id say take your roommates shit

Living with a bunch of guys is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier. They don't steal your shit because they have no use for it.

Seriously, though, if you've already talked about it and nothing changed, I'd cut my losses and find a new roommate. If you care about the stuff that much, press charges or whatever.

Try growing some balls and putting her in place with words. In all those political threads, you kept saying how much more articulate you are in person than typing on the computer. So fucking call her out and mean it. Don't just place blame. Talk her down until she cracks from feeling like such a lowly piece of shit for stealing, especially valuable things that have meaning to you.

But only if you're 100% sure that its her. Cause then you'd look like the asshole for assuming.

Here is what I did.

I texted and called her all last night telling her I wanted my shit back, and if I didn't get it back by tomorrow then I'm pressing charges. She never responded. Today at work (we work together) I told her I wanted my shit back. She ignored me. After work I called the police...they called her - no response from her whatsoever. It's now 8:45 and I still haven't heard from her. I highly doubt she is coming home tonight too.

ah roommate problems....

I'm so glad I live with my good friends now. We never get into disagreements ever, its the most relaxed environment I've ever lived in. Just smoking blunts all day. Never have to worry about getting anything stolen. House is really clean, everyone does their share.

My last roommate was obnoxious, never cleaned, ate my food, and stole my shit. I could've fucking killed him. Still owes me in the range of $300 that I'll probably never see again.
