helmets suck the big one

This is my opinion but I think helmets blow. You don't get the feel of the mountian as well as if you were wearing a touque. There is no risk in skiing, theres nothing better than almost hitting your head and falling into a tree-well, you just get pumped up and ready to go. Sure there is some good looking helmets but did Gee Lafure wear a helmate? NO. So if you are a hardcore wear a touque.

a touque is the real name for one of those earflap beanies. but seriously, i do agree with this one. after years of falling, i know im gonna fall, and i try to do what i need to to not get killed. i dont panic, i am always real clam. because of this, if you fall, you instict is to hold your head up, and all a helmet does is rip the muscles in you neck up.

what the hell, who would ever say skiing isn't risky? i have two friends who almost died a few years ago because they crashed, if they hadn't been wearing helmets they would have been done. One got a broken femur and the other had a smashed jaw and a bunch of other stuff...

I'm happy i wear a helmet, ive tried doing a 900 3 times and twice i flipped backwards and hit my head off a big jump.. I swear without it i would have done some serious damage, even with it I got a concussion

My preference is without, but i always wear onw in the park if im doing risky stuff. And for people to say dont wear one because they look stupid is like saying, being forced to wear a seatbelt is against my human rights. There fucking stupid people so dont listen to them.

Helmets make most of you guys uncomfortable? I don't even notice if I am wearing a hat or helmet. It gives me a little sub-concious confidence, which is good because you don't ski and throw tricks half ass. When you are skiing half ass, that is when you are going to get hurt.

okay, so lets say for an instance helmets can't save you from major injuries, i would still wear one because im never cold in them and whenever i wear a hat it gets really itchy and annoying

freshcoast is right, the best way to not get hurt is to have confidence, and helemts def. add some
and on east coast ice, i'll definitely prefer a helmet over not being super comfortable
plus they're warm

one of my freinds that snowboards got around 270 on a 360 caught his edge hit his head got knocked out and dented the helmet. without it he wudda had a subdural hematoma

Yeah my helmet is so much more comfortable than any hats I've worn, plus it's saved my head once or twice on some of the east coast ice.

k sweet so helmates are the shit then, I posted this to see if I should get a helmate or not, because I know people hate it when you ask flat out 'Should I get a Helmate?'. So The Bad Luteninte is sick but too many people have them are there anyother nice ones under $150 CDN?

dude helmets maybe look dumb or maybe there uncomfortable but i can say that they have probably saved my life, i broke one and i dono what that would have been if it were my skull...
by the way there are more than one company that make helmets, if you dont like one go to another its that simple

Helmets ar no problem. I wear mine most of the time except when not doing any jumps or stuff, but mines helped me avoid the sled a few times.

Helmets are the shit I use to not wear a helmet and know I cant go without wearing a helmet they saved my ass alot of times

Helmets arent that big of a deal. Lots of kids have them these days, so you definitely wouldnt look like an idiot with one on. Also, you have nothing to lose. It could save you IF something did happen. Personally, i like my helmet. It is really comfortable, and actually warmer than any of my hats.

helmets kick ass. theyºe warmer than a hat and when u do fall, and i gurantee u will, it could be the difference between havin to take a week off durin a trip or shakin it off and hittin the next jump

i wore a helmet for a couple of years and it was alright. i domed myself a couple of times and i'm sure it helped me out a ton... the last two seasons i've stopped wearing it and i don't think i'll wear it again. i rock it when i ride pipe at keystone at night or when i'm competing (because usually you have to) but i'd really rather not. i'm not going to get hurt and if i do i'm tough enough to live.
