In State Tuition Or Out of state?

So... I'm two years (almost) done with college. I'm at a junior college in Orange County, Santiago Canyon, and have a 3.7 GPA, as a History major. I hate living where I do but I didn't really have a choice in my parents decision 20 years ago. I am transferring out to 4 year soon to finish up my education, and I don't know where the fuck I want to go.
I can get into pretty much any state school I want. A 3.7 GPA is high already, and having two years already done in college equals out to easy entrance anywhere. My pops gets me free in state tuition for classes, due to him being a disabled Nam vet. I REALLY hate living here, and if I go to a school from where I live I have to pay room and board. I thought about saying fuck it and going out of state and just getting student loans, but I don't know if getting 40 grand in debt is a smart move, since I only have two years to go.
I REALLY want to go to the University of Utah, or Colorado, but is it really worth it? Should I just sack up and finish school then ski bum for however long I want, and move to whatever town fits my desires?
Skiing Big Bear sucks, because... its Big Bear.
Spark Notes: Have fun in college and get into lots of debt, or just get the shit done with in California, and spend the rest of my 20's figuring out what the fuck I want to do involving skiing.

If you are already 2 years in id just stay in cali and get shit done. You have fantastic state schools and if you really wanted to ski bum it then you still can, whereas if you have a huge debt you mightve gotten 2 years in, but anything after that is going to be super difficult to manage~

Yaaah...
But if I move there for one year, to get instate tuition, I don't get it waived through the program my pops has, meaning I'll have to take out student loans. And I'd like to get this shit done before im 24. I'm 21 right now, and still in my second year of college. So even if I work my ass off to get in 2 years in 4 year, I'll be 24 by the start of me being able to take skiing very seriously (move to a mountain and live however I want).
24 seems really old to me... :(

I don't think you should pay $40000 to go ski. My opinion is that since you have the opportunity to ski in Cali (even if it sucks), it's not worth it to move and go into enormous debt.

Are there any schools in the Tahoe area you can go to? That way you'll still be in state, but would have some pretty epic skiing

are you thinking of doing your masters or anything? if so i'd say finish up instate.
and
24 might seem old right now, but remember there are people 80+ still on the slopes. You've got a lot of time to ski.

Go to Davis, that's what, an hour and half from Tahoe? An alright school, far better than the U of U which would basically just be an community college extension. And you don't want to start skiing heavily when you're 24, too old.

Hate to show your ignance, but by no means is U of U a shit school. It may be incredibly easy to get into, and may have alot of some not so bright kids (just saying from test scores haha) but it is what you make it. Its actually ranked incredibly high for their Med school, and they have phenomenal research and I guess I heard their CS/IT shit is pretty top notch. Yeah its no Yale or anything, but the school is really pretty good if you make it.
All times are Eastern (-5); Currently it's 4:14AM
