Help with choosing the right camera.

So, I received a gift card to wal mart for christmas and want to get a camera.  The thing is they only have 2 cameras that caught my eye and i cant decide which to get.  I was kinda leaning toward the JVC because of the image stabilizer, which the sony does not have.  Any help would be appretiated.  Dont hate cause i know nothing about cameras.

^Thanks, but wal mart doesnt carry that and if they did i couldnt afford it anyways.

If they carry panasonic i will deff look into that, but if you HAD to choose between the two which would it be?

I have the JVC, and im not too fond of it. I now realize how bad harddrives suck. Its a pain in the ass to get files to work with any other editing program. And it sucks with shock resistance. I dropped it once from like 3 feet and now it wont store any vids. I cant do anything now cus my parents got it for me for my birthday, but if i could get another camera...
