It is true that temperature fluctuates, this has been scene before,
However, since 1500 the temperature has risen 1 degree Celsius, which may not seem like an overly huge amount but in many cases it is the difference between freezing and thawing,
The temperature started to rise before the industrial period, but has risen dramatically.
In times where the temperature has fluctuated greatly we have scene things like ice ages, so i'm not sure why we would pretend that this isn't happening and rather do something about it.
Going against this is like going against Darwin's theory, there is scientific proof that the CO2 emissions in the air are creating climate change. The polar ice caps melted more then they ever have during the summer of 2008 and are now a fraction of a size that they once were... Due to rising temperatures because of the co2 emissions in the air, but im sure we all know about that.
Climate change is a major deal, this is best exemplified by hurricanes...
Hurricanes breed off of warm water, the warmer the water the crazier the hurricane, i.e. why there are hurricanes in the south, but they happen less in northern waters,
However, we are seeing more and more hurricanes every year and there are more and more hurricanes in northern areas. A sure sign that climate change/global warming is happening. The idea of Climate change was predicted over 25 years ago, but was not until Al Gore brought it to the limelight that it seemed to make a difference in the media.
Going Green is scene widely as a good thing, using less harmful products on the environment is always a good thing. However, we are doing so little in comparison to what we could be doing, since the kyoto protocol was introduced, Canada has used more CO2, which was far from what should have happened. Going green is more of a publicity stunt or in certain cases a way in which company's can cut costs while being able to say it's green. Climate change is real, it is happening and has created cases of extreme weather.
