i went on a ski trip to lake louise last winter and when i entered the park i saw that there was only rails. that made my trip suck partly because i was expecting to hit some nice big jumps and try new things in the cool enviroment of lake louise. Can you tell me what other resorts are owned (destroyed) by resort of the canadian rockies so i won't plan my trip there next time.

1 year too late man, and they got jumps back again this year. I haven't been yet when they had jumps but they're saying they wont be nearly as big as they used to. But since Charly bought it back its been doing awesome, jumps are back, no park pass, next is the big hits back i hope

boycott RCR. I am fuming with anger, not only becasue of the jump removal, but just how they run thier buisness in general. Absolute horseshit if i have ever seen it.

settle down ror. but to be honest, i wanted to get out of kimberley so fast when i was down there two weeks ago, i just didnt like it much, the fucking pop was watered down and over priced. and yea, that made me the maddest. plus i actually went broke, so no money for rec

Wait wait wait... You are saying Charley Lock, is a good business man. you obviously dont know any history.he Fucked over almost every buissness in the town of his resorts when he owned Rcr. Yeah sure there are jumps, but shits gonna hit the fan  dont worry about that.

really? I was there the other day with my lil bro and there was a huge ass sign that said park pass mandatory. I didn't bother trying to get in.

You need a park pass, same procedure as last year. Not sure if the jumps are up yet, they were building them when I was there two weeks ago. RCR owns a minority interest in Louise now but it is operated/branded independently by Locke. If you want to hate on RCR just make fun of Fernie it's easier, e.g. tourists flying across the world and paying $80+ tax over the holidays to ski Elk chair because patrol doesn't have enough budget to manage the terrain effectively (not a dig on patrol, they work their ass off).

When completed, the Terrain Park will have six or more jumps, and up to 15 rails.

In addition to getting the Terrain Park open, the new management at the Lake Louise Ski Area has also decided to eliminate the need for waiver forms and the required possession of a Terrain Park Pass.

The Terrain Park is now open for all to enjoy with no restrictions.

In order to avoid injury, please use common sense and ski and ride with care.

Louise's park is small but still fun better then nothing i guess. I am glad they got rid of the park pass thing it was just another pain in the ass.

hehe, i was just chatting tonight from a friend from fernie about how Fernie is now RCR's prime resort now that they've lost control over Louise. Fernie is a silly place... one thing they got that's good though is the "service without boundaries"... I shall say no more about that here.

The sad thing is, kimberley's park actually used to be pretty sick. i've been going there for 2 years now, and 2 years ago we went in april, and they actually had alot of stuff set up. quite a few rails and boxes, jumps. last year i went in february, and they had 4 features set up. 4. open for 2 months, and they have 4 features. if i was a kid who only got one ski trip a year, and my family decided to go there at christmas and they only had that much set up, i would be insansely pissed. i cant imagine what you guys that ski there every week are feeling

I told them to move it back to ski gabber. I felt as though this issue (that being that RCR got rid of their terrain parks) is bigger than the regionals.

i say to just ski elsewhere. RCR thinks they can take the same amount of money for half the terrain of other mountains, they can go fuck themselves for all i care. i want to be able to ski powders runs, groomers, and park in my day. i got to an RCR hill, i pay the same price i do at any other hill, and all i get is groomers. they even advertise it "World Class Grooming!" that's like asking me to go home. all the workers say "we might bring back park next year," but that's just because they want me to continue spending my money at their hill.

fuck that shit. i'll take my money elsewhere and get triple the value. hell i could ski for free in my neighbourhood and ride twice as much powder as i would get at an RCR hill. fuck RCR and their bullshit hills and their racers-only mentality. they aren't getting any more of my cash, i'll go ski a real hill and have fun doing it. i think this is my first official boycott.

The weirdest thing about RCR not making jumps anymore, is that i'd had as many bad spills on rails and jumps. And half the rails that most RCR parks have are either crazy, tiny or stupid. The other day I went to kimberly and they tried to charge me 5 bucks to go in their park. The park consisted of 5 tiny rails that were about 10 feet apart. The pakr itself was maybe 10 feet wide. I was like ya right, fuck that.

you are exactly right rcr destroyed one of the best parks on the east coast: stoneham and raped so many more on the west coast. whats their fucking problem destroying the best aspect of skiing i hope they go out of business
