I need help with buying the right ski

Right now i am riding the K2 Fugitive, but i want a ski that is not so much for the park because i like to do other things as well.

I was looking at the Line, Sir Francis Bacon and thought they would be good because they are very versatile. I was also looking at the K2 Kung Fujas which are also very versatile. Would these be a good choice for an all around ski? make some suggestions plz.

I want a ski that can do anything and is light and is fun. I am an experienced skier and will try anything.

The kung fugas are super light/flexible, and you can hear speed wobbles pretty easily.
The prophet 90+100's or blends would all be good choices, blends are a bit less flexy then the KF and are -4cm then listed, ie 178 are more like 174
if you want something that you can ski extremely hard go with the Volkl bridges, super stiff, mostly all mnt. bit can still ski park

don't know about kung fujas... but bacons should be a super versatile ski.

you can actually get lots of info on previous threads through the searchbar. just type "sir francis bacon" or "bacons" in there and bam! you'll have tons of helpful information and 1st hand experience posts from NS members right there in front of you. if you still have any speficic doubts just give us more info about yourself & your type of skiing and people here will make sure to help you out.

I've also heard that the k2 extremes are pretty versitile. If I were you I'd just go to your local shop and demo some stuff.

The problem with soft/flexible skis are that they don't handle ice and groomers as well as a stiffer ski. The kung fujas and SFB are pretty soft, and the extrem and bridge are pretty stiff. Just try some different skis out mang.

I am about 210 pounds and im like 6'1" if  it makes a difference in the performance of the softer skis on ice and groomers.

i ski the PE (now the extreme) and 4frnt MSPs. Both skis kill it everywhere- park, bumps, trees, groomers, i skied the MSPs in pow last weekend and they were awesome.  i would reccommend either ski very highly, I dont think you can go wrong here.

After reading all the product reviews for the Lizzies and watchin the movies and stuff it looks like a great ski for me.
Now i need to know wat type of binding to use. I looked at the Marker Griffons but they are little pricey. I want a freeride binding but not to expensive....If that exists. Thx for ur input

Try out the Liberty Hazmat if you get a chance; designed as a "do everything" ski so could be the right thing for you.

dont get sir francis bacons unless you do a lot of backcountry. theyre more of a backcountry ski than an all mountain ski. i have chronics and they rip everywhere. theyre too stiff for me because i do mostly park, but i broke em in nice and now theyre fairly flexy. king fujas might be a bit soft for you since you dont do a lot of park. moment has stiff ass skis, so theyre not bad for all mountain. arv's are softer than youd think, but they still rip. rossignol's seven deadly sins are mad nice, just find the one that fits your style of skiing.

depends on how wide you want it...

k2 extreme is versatile but its only 85mm

line blend same deal but 100mm this year, so it depends on what your skiing.

Price wise? Most good bindings run in the same range, MSRP. I'd recommend the Rossi axial binding (I think they call it that now) or Look bindings, the px12 pivot modern equivalent (whatever it's called now) and my friend who rides on the Jesters (marker) says they're great if you aren't too big of a guy.

All of those are going to be in the $200-300 range, MSRP. Look for deals though, or proform em.
