so right now i have all-mountain boots (not for park) and i get pretty hardcore shinbang every time i ride park (wich is all the time). im considering buying park boots but id like to know how much difference it makes. any tips on reducing it if park boots dont make much difference? (oh, and do they protect the heels more? i recently hit a flat pretty hard and my heel's still hurting.
in all honesty, the only boot that will reduce shinbang is one that fits you perfect. some aspects of the boot might help such as flex, but it's really how the boot fits and how well you are balanced, if you are in the backseat alot you're gonna get mad shinbang. just find some boots that fit and are on the softer side if you want a park boot. i know people that use 130 flex boots in the park and they do just fine... so its all about preference after you get a boot that fits. good luck
yea, the flex of a boot is trivial if it doesn't fit right in the first place. take the time to try on as many different brands as you can, it really depends on what kind of foot you have (narrow/wide) that will dictate what kind of boot is best for you
the difference between all mountain boots and park boots are the areas of support, and in some newer models the ruber toe (that might be next year tho.)
The most important thing is to get boots that fit and tigthen them fuckers down. Loose boots = shin bang
sounds like you have a gap between your leg and the tongue of your boot. take your power strap off and replace it with a booster strap. then snug the tongue of your boot to your shin before doing up your boots leaving the booster stap under the cuff of your boot
