I made a kicker out of wood, need to know what to put on it

ok, i am much of a noob in this cult but i have built a regular kicker out of wood and was wondering what to coat it with or put on it so it doesn't scratch the skis and is sort of safe, etc.

Put some indoor/outdoor carpet on it. Its really cheap (less than 50 cents a quare foot American) and snow sticks to it well. It is that green fake grass stuff and it can be found at any harware store. I did this with my kicker and it works quite well
