Finally got my computer back after having to reformat the hard drive and a bunch of other bullshit.
now my speakers dont work. Theyre plugged into where theyre supposed to be, the green light is on, but my computer doesnt recognize them.
When I go to control panel>sounds and audio devices it says "no audio device", which is strange because I happen to be looking right at the fucking audio devices.
frustrating.
any help? I'm using XP and I am computer illiterate.

probably missing the drivers. search on google for something like "(company name, model of speakers if you have it) drivers" and find what you need. i cant find it for you without more info

You need the driver for your soundcard, not for your speakers. Find out what soundcard you have and get the drivers for it.

What type and model computer do you have? That would also help.

dude you just need to download your chipset and drivers for your MOBO because it prolly has integrated sound and no sound card...
cause when you reformat your HDD you loose all your drivers and so basically your running your computer and its all crap because its not using its full potential.
so youll need drivers for:
video
sound
internet (ethernet or wireless)
mobo chipset (for like USB and stuff)
thsoe are important ones, if your comptuer is a big brand (dell, HP, toshiba)
then you can just go to their site and enter your computer model and go to the driver page and download all the drivers for your comp
All times are Eastern (-5)
