Video camera suggestions?

Hey, I have always wanted to film my bro and I think im actually going to do it, but I have no idea what to look for in a camera. I know that i want it to be HD, but that's as much as i know. What should i be looking for in a camera??  All of the filming will be done in the park/streets, if that helps. Any help is appreciated, and suggestions for cameras are even better

Searchbar, theres like a million threads like this. What you probably want is a HV30, Hv40 if you wanna wait a couple months and spend a couple hundred more for basicly the same thing. Im not sayin dont ask questions, cause i know this is a big investment, but do some research and dont ask generic questions. Good luck :)

welll since your just starting out you dont need something extremely expensive with every button and knob ever made on it. get a canon hv20 or hv30. they shoot very clear HD footage, has 1080p or 1080i options, has tons of other features, is small, and affordable. I got a hv20 for 500 i think the hv30 is around 750 - 800 ?

Not completely wrong, but like 3/4 wrong. The camera uses interpolation to achieve 1080p from a 1080i signal. but asian_allen already knew that so i dono why i'm posting this.

Well actually the sensor shoots 1080p, however the HDV format used on the camera only supports 1080i. You can direct capture at 1080p through the HDMI port, but that requires some expensive hardware.
