This weekend i went skiing with my brand new Canon HV30, shot some good footage. Once i got home, i watched my footage and theres this big gap in the tape with no footage, must be some kind of error. I know i didnt fast forward cause i never played it till i was done, and i remember what was supposed to be there. Is there any way to recover this footage?

If you can't see it when you play it back on the camera, or if you try to capture it and still get nothing, it's gone.  You could try capturing with another camera if all else fails.
