Removing riser plates?

Hey I have a problem. I asked for new 1080s for christmas (was still skiing the yellow ones) and I got them but my dad had the shop put risers on them. He got the idea from all my racing days but I do not really want riser plates on my 1080s. It messes up my balance on rails and just adds unecessary weight. Anyone know if I can bring them to a shop and shop could take out the plates and reattach the bindings?

yes they can do that, but you need shorter screws or else they'll drill right through the bases. so they'll do it if you have some or if they have some

depends on what kind of bindings u have also. cuz i have rossi 120's and they came with seperate screws for running the toe and heel pieces on the boards. they came with riser plates but i mounted them w/o them. most shops should have shorter screws so ask ur local shop.

well shit, i called my shop and they refuse to do it. They said it would involve grinding down the screws to make them fit, another hrs worth of work. That sucks, guess I'm stuck with riser plates.

y dont they jus put in different screws that are shorter
