yo the hyphy edits your hearing about are these 4bi9 edits that were made last year. 4bi9 are these steezy skiers and they made an edit of dope skiing using hyphy music (tell me when to go was in the original edit, white girl in the 1.5 hyphy edit) they are just skiing edits with hyphy music.

that should answer your question. and when kids say the new hyphy edit came out, they are just saying that 4bi9 made another one (they haven't/didn't yet), because the previous ones were really good and they should or are going to make another edit.

The term hyphy edit was coined when hyphy music was used in an edit.

Hyphy music is a byproduct of the hyphy movement in the bay area, it's a style of hip hop. There are many aspects of it, and many artists that are part of it, most of which hasn't even been touched upon in this thread, if you want more info there's a lot of it online.
