Just wondering... Besides the obvious costs of transportation and other necessities, why don't we see more videos shot in Antarctica? I mean it holds 90% of the worlds ice there so one would think that they would have great snow. Or is it just straight ice? Any answers??

not really any big  mountains for it to be worth flying a helicopter down there. plus the temps would be unbearable.

There are friggin huge mountains down in Antarctica, and in the summer its not even that cold. And when the weather is nice, its really nice. An other thing is the storms, which might last for days and blow up shitloads of snow, so the snow isn't a problem... My dads been down there 4 times now. He is a researcher for the finnish atmospheric administration.

ya there are actually huge mountains down there to ski and the average summer temp. is 20 degrees. So why not make it a new summer film spot? Never any shortage of snow....

they only let like 100 people at a time on the continent and there are all ready a grip of scientists and stuff doing research there so i doubt they would let a heli and a film crew just show up and film

my good friend just got back from antarctica and the average temp. was 50 degrees. he took tons of video of mountains with snow on them.
