About 4 months ago I backed into a terribly parked 2004 toyota camry and cutely enough, got into a "fender bender". Basically I caused a hand sized dent in the back, right above the rear bumper. Naturally thinking it was minor, I offered to cover the damage under the table. The chick agreed and said she would tell me the damage when she got it repaired. The next time I see her, she tells me great news, her father offered to pay half. Elated, I asked her what I owed. 350 bones. (Therefore the total damage was 700$) This perplexes me. Would a hand size dent really run 700 greenbacks? I am also suspicious because right after the accident I noticed many other dents in the car. Maybe the father got those fixed as well. (I have yet to see the post repair car)

Yes yes, maybe this is justice severed for my nieve approach to dealing with an accident. i.e. no pictures or receipts. But I feel that I am being taken advantage of. Can anyone offer me any incite to my car crash conundrum?

ps. This bitch had no idea how to park...OK OK maybe i should have wiped the fog off the back of my car but really who parks halfway out into the driveway

body damage isnt really my thing, but it probably depends on where the dent is located, ie if they can get to the other side and bang it out or what, but id definitely look at the car first

body damage can easily run $700 for a little fender bender...it really depends on where it is, if the panel has to be replaced or if it can be bondo'd, paint, blending to the rest of the car, labor, etc.

but as mentioned above, just ask for a copy of the bill for your records.

Ya exactly. If they had to replace the whole panel and repaint a new one it could be really expensive.

Someone sideswiped my suby a couple of months ago. Not that much damage all in all, they had to replace the 4 side panels of my car and it came out to $4000, a grand a panel. It could easily be $700 for a little fender bender.

Yeah I'm wondering the same..... my car got hit yesterday and there is a hand sized den right near the front driver's side wheel/ Minor paint damage and a dent.

yeah i hit someone yesterday and the kid i hit said the dent in the bumper i saw was already there so there was no real damage.....now the moms calling saying i put that dent there.

but i would definitly just ask to see the bill

dude body damage is the most expencive to fix your lucky oyu only paid 700 bucks...... i paid 1800 for a new front bumper cause it had a crack in it, 700 bucks is totally worth it if you put in the tim and labour plus any other costs, just ask for a copy of the work order and u should be fine

like everyone is saying, ask for a copy of what work was done. A single dent could cost that much, but if there were plenty of other dents too i'd be suspicious of them, it seems like a far too simple way to get all of them fixed without someone (you) knowing that you're paying for them.

actually, go back to her house and burn out the inside of the car, then smash the outside up with a hammer. God, i hate camrys.

you're getting a great deal considering you are technically at fault. At a good place that dent is easily a thousand bucks.

well if all the dents were on the same panel of the dent you put there and they would have had to replace the panel for the dent you put there regaurdless it might be ok but if the dents were other places you might wanna talk to her father.
