Mac users being douchebags to PC users

now i dont give a fuck about my cmputer. i just need internets for Lifespace, NS, Gmail and school and i need iTunes and editing software. thats it. so im not gonna go drop money on a Mac when i can just get a Sony Vaio with all the shit i need on it. its white too! so what the fuck, doesnt that make it cool?

im just sick and tired of getting shit at school and everywhere else from the people who have Macs because they ride some kind of fucking high horse about it. NO OFFENSE TO YOU IF YOU USE A MAC! but if youre going to be saying "you have Vista? pshhhh." when you dont even know what operatng software is then you need to shut the fuck up before i test my Vaios durability on your skull.

ok i'll give you the productivity aspects of the argument. i prefer final cut pro to premiere but thats just personal preference

read my previous post and it will explain my stance on this whole mac and virus thing. also, you just contradicted yourself, "no viruses (every operating system has viruses, except linux)", that is false (again, read previous post) and if i understood you correctly here, you're implying that OSX is linux/based off linux. fyi mac is not linux. the mac kernel is based off of unix, which is SIMILAR to linux, not the same thing. still a big difference

but this brings me to my next argument, with windows, you have so many more customization options. theres countless .dlls and such that you can configure to "improve your experience", sure this increases the chance that you will screw up your install, but still. macs dont have this.

to the average user, this wouldnt matter, but for the techies like myself, thats how you learn stuff. by tinkering around with the basic stuff. the mac kernel has too many restrictions. and even you, claiming that you got into this sort of advanced tweaking, should agree with me here, if you are infact telling the truth

not to be a dick.. but he never said what OSX was based off of at all.. go re-read it

and to asian_allen.. he means that windows has those random files and shit normally.. as in during a basic install. OSX has that stuff too, but its all tucked away nicely into a few folders from the HD root (as opposed to many folders in windows)

and i agree with allen, ive see mac users with packed desktops. its just a matter of how organized the user is.

yeah for sure the amount of shit on your desktop is based on you yourself.. when i had xp on my desktop still i had one shortcut and that was to my external HD..

I use macs because they're so much easier to organize and edit photos on. I love Aperture, I love the new iPhoto, and I love my mac. Fuck, I've got 3 of them.

Using them for about 10 years, I don't even know how to use windows anymore.

But fuck the haters of PC, fuck the haters of mac. It's a fucking computer. People use them for different reasons.

seriously who cares? I know some people can be dick, but what you should do is take their damn starbucks frappachinos and throw it in there face.. theres no need to have any hate between pc and mac users.. whats the point?

and yes before any of you guys go encyclopedia brown on me and find out my picture is of my mac and call me a douche mac user, I just want you to know Im more proud of the stickers than the computer!

I'm on a mac because I love working in Final Cut.  If final cut didn't exist or I never started working in video production, I'd be on a PC.

They are both useful. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. For example: I use my mac when i just doing quick little things, basic homework etc. because if you arent doing anything technical, its general faster and simpler.Also i use a mac for video and picture, and general internet surfing. If im gaming, doing engineering design, writing code, or feel like tinkering, its pc.


Can someone give me a reason, other than not being able to afford both, why a person shouldnt make use both? Or why they arent both useful?

I disagree. I dont find Mac OSes (yep, all of them) as customizable as you claim it is. You have many more limitations. With Windows OSes you can dig so much deeper. This is why i prefer the NT kernel
But again, this is a feature that only advanced users really care about.
